Braves to be sold?

2 good positive posts by Horsehide and JxnMissFan. Glad to see positive thinking and not the doom and gloom normally posted here.

Do you think that The Battery does anything to increase their revenues?

Of course it does, which is part of the reason payroll has increased.

Doesn’t change the fact that new owners won’t be any less “cheap”. In fact, the Braves could end up with meddling owners who try to control baseball operations and ruin everything like other meddlesome owners do.

The debt ceiling limit as it pertains to the Braves is entirely internet speculation that doesn’t amount to being credible.

You can get bad ownership in either corporate or individual form.

Liberty has been good compared to Time Warner AOL. If they continue to treat the Braves as an appreciating asset rather than trying to build value by minimizing cash flows the way the previous ownership group did, the team will be fine long-term.

The Braves revenues in the first 9 months of the year were up 44M over the same period in 2017. If you simply add that increase to their 2017 total, it would put them at $380M, which would put them as the 6th highest revenues in MLB. Will be curious to see where we actually land once the full-year totals come out. The playoffs should've added a bit of a boost. This AJC article also states that Liberty isn't selling any time soon, and that the team is "making money at a serious clip."

We will never be lucky enough to obtain an owner that cares about this team.
