AA on cam right now. Says they are not trading an outfielder or a starter. Not close on anything. Running into issues with free agents in terms of years and AAV. Said a bulk of the rumors in regards to the braves are not true.

Will probably stand pat until January...

Lol well that stinks - regarding will probably stand pat until January. So much for hitting refresh every 10 minutes.

AA did have some interesting comments on JTR. Said that we are happy with where we are at catcher right now (where have we heard this before?) Said if the value is there to upgrade, we would. But it would have to make sense in terms of prospects given up and salary cost.

Biggest concern is our position player prospect depth.

This last part makes me think we are unlikely to trade guys like Pache, Riley, Waters and Contreras. It would have to be something compelling to part with those guys.

What I see us as far more likely to do is trade a pitcher for a corner outfielder. And then explore using our pitching prospect depth to see if we can land someone like Bauer. And the last move will be signing a reliever.

Outside shot we do something creative (such as a deal with the Dbacks involving Greinke, Peralta and Teheran).

The #Phillies in on Dallas Keuchel and Zach Britton while also hoping to lure a certain mega free agent

Keuchel, Britton and Harper/Machado would make for a damn good team, though.

None of these revelations are new info to anyone able to think logically.

I’ve said Folty and Inciarte are not being traded, and it’s beyond obvious they won’t be trading away core contributors from the MLB roster.

We knew all along they would trade from the pitching stockpile to add to the roster, so it’s not news they are hesitating to trade position prospects.

We have discussed extensively waiting for FA value in the OF market because they don’t have a huge amount of payroll left. So yes, those deals tend to happen in January

This is all stuff we already know...

I think years are a bigger issue than $$$ on the free agency side.

The braves winning the east has driven the Phillies and Mets crazy. They going all in

Phillies adding machado/Harper, Britton, and Dallas is a pretty good upgrade

It def is no doubt but I just think the core we have is a lot better than theirs. Plus our farm is better. There’s a lot of smoke around a TOR starter so I could still see that playing out for us somehow also.

I feel pretty confident the Phaillies won't land Machado. The Yankees wouldn't be trying so hard to move Andujar if they weren't fully vested into signing Machado.

Not concerned about the fillies. But the mets and even more so the gnats are going to be contending teams in 2019.

This is where I am. The Phillies played over their heads most of last year and have some serious issues that still need resolved. They'll be better than they were last year, they just have farther to go.

I'm real hesitant to trade Fried... I don't think enough people here realize how good he could be or how good he was in a small sample last year. He just needs to keep the blisters under control. I know derp derp says there is no way to envision him in our plans but ole derp derp is also derp derp... he's easily one of the favorites to compete for a rotation spot or a spot in the Pen until a spot opens

Derp derp yourself, dip****. Fried has more problems controlling the ball than he does his blisters and for that reason we should trade him while people still think he can be good.

Bowman came out and squashed the Folty rumors, but I could definitely see him as a trade high candidate if we acquire a front line starter.

I don’t really understand why we would acquire a front line starter just to trade away our only other front line starter. Cash in some lotto tickets for a starter so we can compete now.

I don't believe Folty is a front line starter. If we were able to move some of our pitching prospects who we believe are at peak value for a legit front line starter, then we could flip Folty for that coner OF bat.

He's put up seasons of 1.3, 1.8, and 3.9 WAR. I think it's naive to consider him a 4 WAR pitcher going further, but if someone else valued him as a TOR I'd hope AA would take advantage of the situation and sell high.

Depth charts and steamer agree... they predict 2.7

Interestingly enough, the above predictors both say Haniger headed into some regression 4.7 to 3.0/2.9

I think he's due for some regression. He's also never pitched 200 innings. 123, 154, and 183 the last 3 years including DL stints for a sore elbow and tricep tightness If we could get an equally valuable bat for Folty in terms of years of control and expected production I'd do it.

With that being said I doubt we'll actually trade him.
