And why would any team trade for Teheran rather than simply acquiring Gray themselves? Do we think the Braves have a unique asset the Yankees will prefer?

We all know what the 25 man roster looks like, no need for folks to type it out on every page of the thread.

Kinda like there's no need for you to complain about every post not made by you???

I agree in general, but JT would be given away essentially for free in any deal, where as Gray will likely still cost a decent prospect. True that Gray is the better pitcher, but a team may simply prefer the cost associated with acquiring JT. He's perfectly acceptable as a 4-5 of a rotation.

i think a lot of teams may not see it this way after looking further into the numbers

I think a team willing to experiment with an opener could get real value from JT. Sometimes you just have to accept that he is no longer a traditional starter and could be valuable in a bullpen game. I hope AA instructs snit to try that some this year. Especially with the depth at pitching we have.

i'm not sure julio has the type of stuff to be a BP piece. it would be more of an experiment.

What if AA thinks way outside the box to fill in holes.

Houston has a gap in SP coming, we have a gap in cOF.

What if he did something like Touki & Weigel for Tucker deal? and plan on spelling Tucker with Camargo if he struggles.

It looks like the Marlins still want an Ozzie Albies type player a top prospect+ for Realmuto. Yeah, no one is doing that. lol

I heard Rosenthal say that too. They asked for Bellinger + from the Dodgers. If that is what the asking price stays at then AA needs to move on bc nobody will give in to those demands.

Don't even give this idiot lip service. Truly the dumbest of the dumb and he acts like he's so much smarter than everyone else here. What a sad ****ing loser.

crazytrain and clvderp...the Dymanic Duo of Dumb!

Check my sig for proof haha

The Marlins can't be this dumb...

They are starting down the path towards not trading JTR at all and completely wasting his value on a losing team.

They really took heat with getting such small returns for Yelich and Ozuna. Now that JTR is on the block, they are trying to get the most value to try and make up for both trades. However, the market is not there. While plenty of teams are interesting in making a deal for him, no one is willing to pay that price.

A big portion of a catchers value is how they work with the pitching staff, so an in season trade gives the catcher much less time to acclimate himself to the staff. Not to mention, that the catcher is at a much higher risk for injury at all times.

So the longer they drag this thing out with JTR, the less value he has to interested teams and the more risk the Marlins take that JTR is injured.
