I can't remember the stand-up comic who uttered the line, but it was something to the effect that he had to tell his kid that Rudy Giuliani was once "America's Mayor" and taken seriously. The guy has become a cartoon character, which in a way is kind of sad.

I can't remember the stand-up comic who uttered the line, but it was something to the effect that he had to tell his kid that Rudy Giuliani was once "America's Mayor" and taken seriously. The guy has become a cartoon character, which in a way is kind of sad.

kind of sad. but at the same time, becoming a joke by latching oneself to trump to try and stay relevant doesn't garner much sympathy from me. he could've stayed out of the spotlight and kept his integrity. he chose this instead, and every braindead interview he gives hammers it home more.

i lived in ny during much of his mayoralty...he's always been wacked out...still much deserving of respect though for the way he handled 9/11...on a small scale he was churchillian...churchill himself had um his eccentricities
