More from the Fat Man, MLBTR reports

MLB.com’s Mark Bowman writes in his latest Inbox column that the Marlins are still insisting that the Braves include one of their current position players in a trade for the All-Star catcher. So long as that continues to be the price, Bowman writes, it’s unlikely that the Braves will cave into the Marlins’ demands.

Fish are looking for a LH bat

Current position player who hits LH-- Freddie, Markakis, Inciarte, Mac I hadn't heard this demand before.

Assuming this is true, simply run - not walk - away.

Sign Gio for 1/$8 million and replace Duvall with Marwin and see how things shake out. Keep all the prospects until the deadline when several teams that are trying to compete at this point have fallen out of the race and see what's available then.

Someone, somewhere, just tweeted the Braves have checked in on Machado...again.

The whole "sign Machado, trade Swanson for JTR" series of events sure is fun to dream about...if the Braves had any money.

This is the 2nd solid idea I've seen from you this month!

Problem is that Manny just had a hangover from the Chettah club and the Braves were just checking to see if he was feeling better. Tweet was just a misunderstanding is all.

Padres have just jumped into the Machado sweepstakes. Maybe they will put on the pressure needed to get these deals done finally.

Baseball's problem is that everything takes so damn long. 4 hour games, 30 seconds between pitches, 15 minutes between each ball in play, months for FAs to sign, days for the draft, years for draftees to make it to the MLB level, and on and on.

I wish the padres would get him

If you do this, wouldn't camargo be expendable then? Doesn't Marwin play some IF too? If so, who could we likely get with camargo?

Let’s see just how dumb the Marlins are.

How about a poopoo platter of MLB players for JTR?

Flowers plus Duvall plus Camargo plus Newk for JTR.

Braves go out and sign Marwin and Gio.

If we include Duvall, they gotta send back Anderson lol

Friend of the program @CraigMish said today the Marlins are enamored with Ian Anderson. Just a matter of if they’re open to taking lesser pieces from the Braves in addition to Anderson to make a deal happen

Worth noting that Mish didn’t say anything like “Anderson or bust” as far as a trade goes but that’s who the Marlins really want. Feels it’s down to ATL or LA for him

How does camargo and Anderson match up value wise with realmuto?

Assuming:

JTR carries ~$60m in surplus value.

Anderson is a 55 with ~$35m in surplus value.

I could easily buy a team placing ~$25m surplus value on Camargo.

If the reported spin rates for Anderson means the Braves don’t value him as highly as the Marlins there is definitely room for AA to make an excellent value trade.

Flipping a pitching prospect internal analytics has determined isn’t as good as the eye test suggests for a young impact position player is the exact type of trade the Braves should be aiming to make

You aren’t buying Camargo as a 3 win player?
