The Trump Presidency

The Dems have controlled the house I believe 6 years of the last 12, with a Dem president for a few of them

If there was a spending bill that cut spending sent to the President, I must have missed it.

Both Republicans and Democrats suck with spending. We will pay a dear price for this as will our kids, and their kids.

All the Dems want to do is tax and spend. All the Republicans want to do is spend.

What you said he said?

President who called Neo-Nazis "very fine people"

Absolutely

Got a Venn Diagram for you here

I am becoming convinced the best government is a Democrat president with a Republican Congress. That's pretty much the only time Republucans are actually fiscally conservative and they will investigate everything which I always support.

Wait I'm sheep? You think anyone on the side with the KKK, White Nationalists, and Neo-Nazis were "very fine folk"? There's an adage about the company you keep somewhere out there.

Yeah, anyone who thinks that book burning is bad is a nazi.

What the heck happened to you?

Here, to jog your memory since it seems almost as short termed as the Presidents.

You see that banner there, that's for the NSM, National Socialist Movement. National Socialists if you read your history books was the movement that we refer to as Nazism.

Here we have members of the Traditionalist Worker Party, you can read about them on the ADL website if you want

https://www.adl.org/resources/backgrounders/traditionalist-worker-party-twp

Now that took me 5 minutes of research to dig up 2 easy photos of real Nazis at the Unite the Right rally. Keep in mind none of the proud boys were fighting the Nazis. No they were fighting the people fighting the Nazis.

This is very simple. There are good people that dont want statues taken down (book burning reference is used often). Show all the pictures of the nazi scum you want. It doesnt change the first fact.

You have completely evacuated real thought by taking this stance.

By good people you mean racists and those who're against democracy. Why should it matter to people from Michigan, Indiana, etc. what happens in Charlottesville?

Again, this isn't about burning books, this is about turning the page of books. There's a huge racial component to confederate statues.

And for those who're so interested in remembering history where are your Benedict Arnold and King George III statues? Where are your statues for Santa Anna? What about statues to Tojo? Seems to me like we don't keep a ton of statues to people the United States defeated in war, except for Confederates.

I think what really irks me about Confederate lovers is they claim to love America. You're talking about people who claim to love America but show a flag that's representative of when several states tried to leave America, because they knew the time of legally being able to force people to work for no money was about to come to an end. It does truly baffle me.

Youre right. Everyone that disagrees with you and your worldview are racists and deserve to be crushed.

What an absurd mindset to have but that is where any and all conversation ends.

RACISM!

Make an argument for me why in the 1920s a bunch of confederate monuments went up.

I'll leave an easy to digest article that doesn't divulge too many facts for you, since facts seem to cause an illogical reaction in you

https://www.history.com/news/how-the-u-s-got-so-many-confederate-monuments

But in short the monuments weren't to honor the dead, they were to give a cult of personality to leaders of the Confederacy who were supposed to identify and pass on the "right" thing to do in Jim Crow era America. So again, these weren't monuments to lost soldiers, these monuments were built to glorify traitors to America in an era where people still believed black people were second class human beings. I mean ****, you can argue that it's not racism, but it's like arguing that Southern Succession wasn't over slavery.

imagine being dumb enough to think taking down racist ass statues that were put up around the country during civil rights movements to make sure "they" don't forget white people run this **** is the equivalent of burning books

The event was organized and sponsored by white nationalist and white supremacist groups. The list of speakers was a who’s-who of white nationalists, neo-Nazis, and anti-Semites. Those “good people” made a choice to stand shoulder to shoulder with them, didn’t they?

I've tried that angle already Julio. thethe sadly has already drank too much of the Kool-Aid. Logic doesn't work on him anymore.

We're less than 5 thethe posts about Charlottesville away from him blaming Antifa

For a cause they believed in. Im not defended statues or what they signify but to reduced every person who didnt want statues taken down as bad racist people because of who was present or organized the march is way too simple.

Is your position that every single person on that side were bad people? Were they all racist?
