Pretty aggressive with Alexander, Waters and Wentz.

Interested to see if they try to let Weigel get back to starting or just stick him in the pen where most people think he ends up. He could help the big league team this year in the pen if they go that route.

I'm wondering that as well.

interesting they still want to work Weigel as a starting pitcher...makes sense...you want to give them all a chance to develop as starters

In fairness they just listed the pitchers and I made that assumption. I could be wrong as we have 6 starters and 7 relievers.

Weigel was Wilson before Wilson was.

You definitely want to see how he bounces back from injury in rotation. And putting him in the MLB pen doesn't really make a lot of sense until he has a chance to come all the way back.

He's 22 months past surgery. We have a million starters in the upper minors. People were talking about Weigel in the bullpen before he hurt his elbow, so it doesn't feel like a stretch to me, especially when there's a huge need at the big league level.

The organization had him slotted to take his turn in the MLB rotation ahead of most of those guys. The pen thing was largely residue from his drafting and overlooked his progression in developing a third pitch. Much like Wilson.

It makes the most sense to let him stretch out and see how it goes. He can always move back and always worth the effort to exhaust the possibilities of a starter.

Mississippi rotation order to start the year:

RHP Ian Anderson
LHP Kyle Muller
LHP Joey Wentz
RHP Patrick Weigel
LHP Tucker Davidson

Will waters be rf or lf? Or will they both rotate around the OF?

I'd guess Waters plays right simply because we won't need him in LF in Atlanta for a long time. They'll probably move him around to keep him versatile though.
