The Trump Presidency

Jeez No one will ever be able to come up with 9 pictures of incensed Democrats. Well played.

"I was talking about people that went b/c they felt very strongly about the monument to Robert E Lee. A great general, whether you like it or not"

I would argue he wasn't really that great a General besides the fact he led a revolt against the country Trump swore to defend.
Bringing the conclusion the President we have now has more in common with Jefferson Davis than Abraham Lincoln
What a despicable human being.
Either

I’m not sure which is stranger—the gaslighting revisionism that casts Charlottesville as anything other than a party organized by white nationalists, or the historical blind spot around Lee’s willing service to a cause that was not only morally repugnant, but probably killed more American soldiers than all other wars combined.

The other thing about Lee is his record in the Reconstruction era South. One of his best generals, Longstreet, recognized the need for and worked for reconciliation and rights for freed slaves. It is telling there are very few statues or other memorials for Longstreet, someone who I would like to think all southerners can come together in honoring.

Yeah, that’s not a coincidence, which is a not insignificant part of the story of the myth-making and revisionism/rehabilitation of the Confederacy. Longstreet’s relative erasure in history, in contrast to his war record, should be instructive as to what those efforts were really about.

Not too hard to see where anti-Semitism lives in America. The progressive left wing.

I guess the kid who just shot up the synagogue reads The New York Times. One can legitimately criticize Israel and not be anti-Semitic. I wish people would get that straight.

The Times has issued a statement owning up to making a mistake publishing that cartoon. They deserved the criticism they got for it.

You are in denial regarding whats happening in your party.

No I'm not and I am really getting tired of the Right's constant creation of bogeymen just because a few isolated individuals express their opinions, which I understand is allowed under the First Amendment. It doesn't help when intelligent people like Dershowitz create false equivalences between concern over Zionism and discrimination against Jews. I would venture that throughout history, Christians have killed more Jews than Muslims. See, I can create false equivalences too.

Or maybe its because we Jews can see antisemitism.
