GDT: 5/05 - Braves finale @ Marlins

Max Fried is no longer allowed to pinch run. What an incredibly bad decision by the base coach.

I thought the exact thing when they made the switch. Like, really??? You're gonna pinch run with your 2nd best starting pitcher? Would have been way smarter just to use the next BP pitcher you plan on using.

it was another moronic move by snit but Washington sending him was too, ball beat him by plenty to get him if fielded cleanly. Thankfully Fried seems okay but that left arm or hand could have been hurt on that play at the plate.

Wash definitely wasn't waving Fried to go at least on any camera angle I've seen, I don't know what he was saying but he was just bent over at the 3B bag and it looked like to me he was telling him to stop or maybe he was betwixt and between but that could have ended very badly!

I thought he was and Fried seemed to think so, but either way that's not an issue if snit had not used Fried in that situation.

I just watched the replay, Chip is screaming about Washington waving him all the way but the angle is not good see that on replay. But again snit put Fried in that spot, not Wash.

Given everything, being two up on the Mets and only 1.5 back of the Phillies really isn’t that bad.

With the Phillies having a rough schedule this month if we can just get through this month strong and then add Kimbrel after the draft next month we should be in good shape for the second half.
Not like the braves schedule is favorable. These next 2 weeks are gonna be brutal

Main difference seems to be early season health. No guarantees that we don't still get swept in Philly, but certainly having a healthy Folty/Soroka/Gausman could have made a legit difference at the start of the year.

Its actually a little easier than the Phillies. Literally the Royals are the only easy games they have until June 2nd. At least we get a few breaks with 4 against the Giants, 3 against the Tigers, and 4 against the Diamondbacks (I'm not believing in their current record).

I do kinda like that our schedule gets MUCH easier later on in the year. We have a bunch of games against the NL Central teams, the Giants, the Reds, and the Blue Jays in the last two months. Plus seven games against the Marlins. If we can make it to August with a lead in the division, I like our chances a lot.

I had to watch the Marlins broadcast, which clearly showed Wash waving Fried home before Fried was even in the frame coming into 3B and the ball already being thrown in from the outfield. It was craziness. Wash needs to never go back to the coke capital of the country. He undoubtedly fell off the wagon there.

Would you say it Fried his brain??

Thanks, the Braves broadcast is known to have bad angles.
