Affordable Care Act

So the only reason that insurers are jacking up plans is because they are screwing with the people? It can't be because that costs are going up. No chance of that.

You can talk to you are blue in the face, but some people just won't listen. It is just business 101.

Is that what you took from the articles?

There have been issues with grandfathering since day one, 2010. I knew that!!! Clearly understood what the President meant. I assumed everyone did. And, me and mine were able to see how it affected us

Single payer Medicare for all and we aren't having this conversation.
(R) Governors opting into the state exchanges - we aren't having this conversation.

Yesterday got a notice that my auto insurance went up. Just sayin

i believe your point is mentioned in one of the articles. "standard operating procedure for insurance industry" is the way I think it was phrased.
But again, why are you just learning about these issues today? Bet I know ------ wouldn't be because it is the right wing outrage of the week?
Death Panels tapate (in the AA sweater) --- Death panels. What ever happened to that meme?

So the Libs knew that insurers would hike rates and went through with this plan? I guess they didn't really care if people wanted to actually stay with their insurance plans.

Another wise pronouncement from opponents of ACA (Obama??).
////

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) thinks support for Obamacare is worse than belief in Bigfoot.

But what does it say when Congress' approval rating is worse than both?

I think what bothers me the most about the current debate is there are actually very wrong things with this law that need to be addressed. But I'm afraid we will never get to where we can actually make affordable health care because we get bogged down in non-issues and people that are civically lazy.

That seems to be the theme of the Obama Presidency though

Why come out with the line that if you like your insurance plan then keep it if they knew that few would be able to afford to keep it?

My guess is he assumed people knew their coverage. That too was in the articles --

My family and extended family kept our plans -- in fact I don't know anyone that works in my locale that lost their plan.
Wonder what the details of Sturgs plan were. What was his deductible? What percentage of cost was taken on by his employer?
What mechanisms of the policy changed after the passage of the bill?

Oldest story in the book is fine print and insurance.

Medicare for all --- single payer. That solves all of this.

Sebelius questioned about this ad, leads to hilarious exchange.

Paraphrasing this: "You can't see that? That's a pretty big picture of a kegstand!"

This hearing is great comedy. "To the best of your knowledge, has a man ever delivered a baby?" Sucks I have to go to work in an hour and a half, I want to keep watching this trainwreck of a hearing.

What she saw didn’t shock her. “I’m shocked… not,” says Smith. Her doctor is no longer a provider with her Aetna insurance group. Smith tells us that her doctor is leaving the insurance group to opt for cash only practice because of Obamacare. The plan that the doctor provided didn’t meet the requirements of Obamacare.
