Fangraphs now has the Braves winning the division in a very tight race. They still think the Nats are the better team the rest of the season but have put themselves in too much of a hole to make it up. Of course anything can happen but as long as the Nats continue to play crap baseball I like our chances against the Phillies.
When folty inevitably rights the ship the Braves are going to cruise.

Fangraphs now has the Braves winning the division in a very tight race. They still think the Nats are the better team the rest of the season but have put themselves in too much of a hole to make it up. Of course anything can happen but as long as the Nats continue to play crap baseball I like our chances against the Phillies.
The wins against the Dbacks, Cards, and Brewers have been very helpful. Wins against the teams you are fighting for a playoff spot with are more valuable. It is a form of sequencing luck. We had some of the same last year against the NL East.
It has also been helpful that our little surge has coincided with the metropolitans doing a fade job. The losses to the Marlins (1 hitter last night!) have been especially painful.
