To trade or not to trade

I only trade Inciarte in the right deal. That right deal probably doesn’t exist right now unless there is a GM that really values Ender....which is possible.

It’s possible he rebounds but it’s also just as possible that he declines. To me, if the right deal comes that’s “close” that makes you better....you take it and move that contract off the books.

I do very much believe that Pache will be ready next year. Pache reminds me of Riley. A very hard worker, that makes steady progress each year. It’s been said he is the hardest worker in the minors and probably the most coachable. Add that with his talent and I am sold on Pache.

I think Ender is moved at the deadline or (and more probable) in the offseason. Pache would either have to regress or have a injury for that to change.

Hold on to Ender. Donaldson I would pay his fare out of town. Ranks with the Uptons on my favorite Braves list. I am kind of glad he is crapping the bed anyway so there is little chance of a re-sign.

So, explain how he is “crapping the bed” then. This should be good.

He's not even on pace to hit 30 bombs right now. For a guy brought in to hit homers, it pretty much fits the definition. All that 40 homers and MVP silliness from January is over at least.

Donaldson will be fine. It’s a great problem to have (starters on the bench). It’s the kind of problem the Dodgers have. You don’t trade anyone unless it can strengthen your team and those deals are rare.

95% chance that NO guys are traded off our starting roster until the offseason.

So it's only the numbers you care about and that determine whether he's crapping the bed? And the countless other numbers that say you're clearly wrong are irrelevant. Gotcha.

Aggressively ignorant posters are the most entertaining haha.

JD was not “brought in to hit homers”. That is moronic 1990s dinosaur talk. Pretty much expected from the source of the comment. Being dumb doesn’t stop the agressively ignorant from screaming their moronic opinions though.

JD was brought in to be a 3-4 win player on a 1 year deal. That’s exactly what he’s doing. He’s been the 3rd most valuable hitter for the Braves, whether or not this fool understands that fact or not.

The talk of being an MVP candidate was definitely homerific though.

If he's healthy, I want him in center field. Put Acuna back in left and move Riley to third. Send Donaldson and a chunk of change to some AL team who needs a DH.

Somebody gets it. And it didn't take a slide rule, pocket protector, and spreadsheet to do it.

If Donaldson continues to perform at this level then nobody is trading him.

If he performs like he should perform then the Braves aren't trading him.

Case closed.

some of us disagree...Donaldson is being paid the going rate of a 3 WAR player and he is on pace for that a third of the way through the season...there is a reasonable chance he will maintain or exceed that pace the rest of the way
