I can't wait until Drew Waters gets out of the homerun killer called Trustmark and gets into AAA with the new ball.

Still riding a .449 BABIP at this point in the season, but the K rate is down to 29% after sitting in the low 30s for most of the year. It still has a long way to go obviously. He is leading the Southern League in XBH.

I'm sure you'll have yet another brilliant take based on whatever happens in this handful of A-ball innings...

Not picking on thethe here because he's definitely not alone, but I always laugh at people who really think these rehab innings or ABs have much to do with anything. It's about shaking off the rust and facing live hitting or pitching. Very rarely does anything different show itself.

I know the player development staff has been really aggressive in pushing guys up the ladder, but I hope they leave Waters in AA all season and maybe promote him if Gwinnett is in the playoffs. I can see moving Pache up, but I'd be patient with him as well.

These starts will certainly be about that, but they're sometimes a pretty good indication of exactly where the more advanced players are - Folty's had plenty of time to "shake the rust off", but the problems he had during his tune-up starts are still there.

Slight struggles in them certainly aren't reasons for jumping off the ledge - you're right - but there are obviously things that could happen that raise concerns.

I just want to see the K rate down. I wouldn't bump him up until he can sustain a sub 25% K rate for a few weeks, whether that's this year or next.
