Bullpen Luck

Expects Yuge Games
For the season our pen has an ERA of 4.01 and a FIP of 4.68. This is the biggest such gap of any team in the majors.

For June our pen has an ERA of 2.72 and a FIP of 4.00.

The pen has improved. But it has been also getting very lucky. Even more lucky than Riley.

Regression is coming. Sowwy.

Upgrade needed as much as ever.

Swarzak has pitched well, but he's also been very lucky. As a Brave: ERA 0.66 FIP 3.10. Hot take: Swarzak is a mediocre pitcher who has gone through a stretch where he has actually pitched well. In addition, he has been very lucky. Maybe his little hot streak lasts all season. Maybe not.

Newcomb has pitched very well in the pen, but he's also had some luck. As a reliever: ERA 1.42 FIP 2.62. Newk has issued 0.95 walks per nine innings as a reliever. Hope he can keep that up, but somehow doubt it.

Luck is good.

Looking forward to the mood swing in these boards. Could be seismic.

Newcomb, Touki, Swarzak and of course Jackson are the only locks to stay in the bullpen. Every other spot is up for grabs, IMO. I don't care about Webb's results up to this point, he's not that good and we shouldn't pretend he is if we can get a notable improvement.

Touki hasn't been great either, but we need a long man and he's about as good as you're going to get in that role.

I wanna upgrade touki's spot and keep tomlin as the long man. I'd rather touki log innings as a starter in AAA or be trade bait

I agree on Touki getting some innings in as a starter but I would rather we hold on to him.
He has more plus pitches then most of our other prospects and if he ever slightly improves his command then he could be a very nice 3/4 in the rotation.
