I mean, that's just common sense. Dr. Scheff is reaching on this one.
AA will be here shortly to give you a stern talking to about that.

Lol we blew a 8.5 game lead in 23 days in 2011. Our best bet to win this division is keep everyone fresh and healthy. This a big missed opportunity to get some PT for Joyce, Camargo and Culberson

Whose to say they cant rest some next week?

The percentage fluctuates based on lead versus time left. Not who you play. So if we lose 3 and the phils and bats win three our percentage will drop just as fast. We are always going to have another reason to play our starters. Oh it’s the Cubs. Gotta play the big guns. Oh the phils are coming in next. Wanna build that lead up more for that series. Oh my dog didn’t bark at the mailman. Must mean neck will have a big day.
Our manager should have a plan to rest guys throughput the year and don’t waiver on that based on who you are playing. Twit is a horrible manager.
Besides, we should get an update any day now on Donaldson’s suspension. He can rest then.
Plus expected performance the rest of the season.

That doesn’t fluctuate game to game though. It is slower to adjust. So it is more a constant variable
Track record disagrees with this. Neck hasn’t had a full day off yet. FF had what one game off as a starter. JD has 4 or 5 maybe.
We need to rest guys more in general. Not doing so today in particular doesn't seem like a worse missed opportunity than any other day, it’s the general trend that’s concerning.
I’m sure Nick’s one pinch hit PA exhausted him in those games.
The issue with Nick isn’t rest. He needs to be in a platoon.
The only guy I truly worry about needing more time off is Donaldson.
You can literally play those guys tomorrow. “Missed opportunity” is a fallacy. That opportunity is ever present.
If we want to talk about single game outcome exaggeration, we can debate the impact of not resting our starters today.
You can, true, but IMO it would be better to do it today since they are using a lesser pitcher. My feeling is that we have a better chance of winning today with subs than we would tomorrow (though Lester has not exactly been sharp the last month)
