There was no cement. And I’d be willing to bet that homey didn’t have a brain hemorrhage. Dude got punched 2 or 3 times, which is too bad, but also not entirely unexpected, considering the people he runs with. As you are fond of saying about right-wing violence, nothing to see here, let’s move on.

Hmm. He hangs out and writes favorably (cuz, you know, he’s a journalist and all) about members of Patriot Prayer, Proud Boys, and Identity Europa. These people are portrayed as “free speech advocates” or “libertarian activists.” He writes about Joey Gibson, founder of PP, like he’s a harmless cuddly kitten instead of an instigator of violence. His whole thing is puffing up these fascists and doxxing activists who oppose them. So, if you decry the violence, acknowledge that it’s promoted and encouraged by the people he runs with. Read up on the last couple of years of violence in Portland and find plenty of accounts of journalists and others being beaten up by Ngo’s pals.

Amazing that you’ve given this incident more attention than actual murders by right-wing extremists, though.

Dude I've said from the get go the murders from the alt right folks should rot in jail.

You can't bring yourself to say a person with whom you disagree shouldnt be assaulted.

I spend time focusing on it bc everyone agrees about the former, but the left supports the latter.

I've mentioned over and over how free speech is under assault, and this is a literal example of that. You mock me, and then when someone is literally assaulted, you cheer it on.

You're on the side of violence against speech and your political compass is too broken to even see it

I don’t see anyone here actually advocating anything (other than you and thethe advocating shooting people).

I’ve said I’m not surprised, and that the point of Patriot Prayer/Proud Boys holding these events is to provoke violence and create a narrative...and a dishonest one, at that. Trying to suggest that their motivations are related to free speech is ludicrous and directly contradicted by evidence of those groups planning for and engaging in violent confrontation. You’re either a dupe or profoundly dishonest.
 
my favorite is trying to act anarchists are "the left"

maybe these people are just acting on what the president and his followers that spout that the media is the enemy of the people. maybe rhetoric has consequences and people in power should choose their words carefully when it comes from a place of power

Big mistake for some in the media to quasi embrace Antifa. It's a silly and useless organization that can only hurt the left.
