but but i read his stat line and have determined he needs better command. i’ve never seen him but i am extremely sure of it.

He needs better control. That's for certain. It's more of a question if if he develops it. Some are confident he will. Maybe he will.

I just never count on prospects to develop significantly better control as a rule. I find I'm rarely disappointed and pleasantly surprised when it does happen

He hasn't given up more than 3 walks in an outing since 5/14 and during that time frame he only gave up 3 walks twice.

You’re talking with someone who wondered aloud if 5+ walks per 9 was his new norm after about three starts.

haven’t seen one person who’s actually watched him a bunch agree with you. he had a bad start to the season but has drastically turned it around. somehow despite never seeing him and everyone who has (who can also read stats) saying he has good command, you still think you’re right.

Your obsession with his walk rate stuff is beyond stupid. His command is fine, it's nowhere near Newk level bad as a starter the way you make it seem it is.

SSS.

I honestly have no idea what kind of control Anderson eventually develops or if his recent results are a sign of that control developing. I just wait for him to amass a significant number of IP and look at the results.

As a rule, I don't count on players significantly improving their control. It's far more common for it not to happen. It does occur though and I hope Anderson is one of those. It's just not something I count on.

BB numbers are incredibly important for a pitcher. BBs, Ks, and HRs are the big three. Anderson is great in 2 of them. The third is huge for him.

If he gets his BB rate under 2 and keep his other peripherals, he could be phenomenal. If it stays over 4 he's a number 3 or 4 starter.

Say what you want about a SSS, it really isn't a small sample size for a 21 year old kid in AA. That sample is 44.92 innings out of his 86.2 inning on the year and in 8 starts. That's a pretty good sample.

Is this a better sample? All year, he's only had 3 starts with more than 3 walks.
