Lord BABIP and Other Cool Braves Nicknames

My one triumph in this area was calling Vinny Castilla "The Sucking Vortex of Doom" back in 2002.

Admittedly, I stole that from BPro's nickname for BJ Surhoff a few years earlier, but it's 2013 and I still see people online referring to Castilla as SVOD.

I wonder if SVOD inspired ABMOD (ankle-biting midget of doom), a nickname for a former soccer player.

I didn't originate it, but I successfully convinced the admin at baseball-reference.com to add "Burger King" as Ray King's official nickname atop his stat page.

Referring to Dan Kolb as "Klobb" always made me giggle.

Because anyone who ever played Goldeneye for N64 knows, both the relief pitcher and the gun weren't exactly the most effective options to get the job done.

Ken "Death" Ray makes me laugh, as does the random success he had here. Can't remember where it came from.

Coming up with some belated gems now though:

Darren "Humble" Bragg
Dewayne "Not Especially" Wise

Come on, these are timeless.

I'm glad George Lucas is off the Star Wars series, because otherwise I'm pretty sure we'd see a character named "Namho Lliw" in the next movie.

Epic Winske. It was in the legendary Dodgers GDT in early 2011. Though, admittedly I had been holding on to it for sometime.

MikeAdams came up with Hot Nudism the night we were waiting for JS to return from the Winter Meetings with an announcement on Tim Hudson.

I loved it. The thread was well over 100+ pages, and we went from doing play by play on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air on Nick@Nite to Hot Nudism.

Mike genuinely came up with it, no internet anagram site. It was just, 3-4am in the morning and even Shanks was with us. I think somebody told Bill to meet JS at the airport and ask him as soon as he got off the plane at Hartsfield.
