Can you not just have empty spots on the 40-man roster during the season? In other words, why wouldn't you just go ahead and put long term injuries on the 60-day DL instead of having them sit on the 15-day until someone needs adding?

It is a dissagreement between Dish Network and Fox Sports South over rights fees for the games that were formally going to be Peachtree TV games that Fox Sports South took over. It's been that way all year and will stay that way for a while.
