Right now there's a 3-way tie for NL wildcard. What would happen if this were the case after 162 games?
They would seed the teams 1 through 3 based on various tie breakers. Seeds 2 and 3 play each other for the 2nd WC spot. Then the actual WC game.
After the trade deadline this players are available for the playoffs? Or now is too late?Asdrubal Cabrera was DFA'd by the Rangers. He was one of the guys I had my eye on this offseason as bench depth. Really wouldn't mind giving him a minor league contract and maybe providing some depth for our infield. Probably not needed, but I've always kinda liked him as a player.

Old friend Tim Collins has elected free-agency after being DFA’d by the Cubs. One way to add a bullpen lefty.
The Tigers have selected the contract of outfielder Travis Demeritte from Triple-A Toledo, as per a team announcement. Righty Eduardo Jimenez has also been called up from Toledo.
Demeritte is set for his big league debut just a day after joining the Tigers. The 24-year-old was dealt to Detroit yesterday along with southpaw Joey Wentz in the trade that sent Shane Greene to the Braves.
Good for him.

Apparently we were negotiating for Greinke. Decided it would cost too much and he was too old. God damnit that has me pissed. Been hyping the guy for 15 years now and repeatedly watch us screw up the chance to get him. With Greinke we were real world series contenders. Now our WS might as well be the NLDS. Cant till he hits free agency and we pass on yet again while he continues his hall of fame career.
