Nothing against Ender or Nick, but their injuries have thus far proved blessings rather than curses for Atlanta. Ender was doing awful trying to play through injury and once he went out that opened the door for Riley to give us a shot right when we needed it most. But now Riley needs to go back to AAA because since that great start he has been awful and is now hurting us by being in the line-up (.068 BA in his last 7, .168 BA in his last 30 games). Nick got hurt right about the time he usually starts his usual poor second half and Duvall has came up to give us a boost again at the perfect time, with him and Ender keying series wins over the Phils and Nats. Ender has hit .360 in the last 7 games and looks to be his old self again. Had Nick and Riley still be starting, then we'd not got to see this from Duvall and Ender.
even our injuries have been serendipitous this season
yea, thanks to our depth in the minors. We had Riley and Duvall ready and they have been great for us overall. Riley just needs to go back down and work on things and come back in Sept.
I just saw that Duvall has already surpassed Nick's fWAR and bWAR for the year in just 5 games lol. That is insane.
AAA is the second bench.
Is this Riley's farewell appearance?
The Camargo excuses are very funny.plus it is a bench that plays enough to stay sharp late in the year, outside of Culberson our bench has went cold due to Snit almost never starting them. Camargo looked very rusty filling in for Swanson because of that stupidity.

Would be nice to have an actual MLB RHH in LF vs Alex Wood. Ahh well.
When Riley goes down to AAA to make room for Swanson tomorrow, who plays LF vs LHP? I'd like to see Culberson get some more time than he has been getting.
How many games does he need to play to shake off the rust? Dansby has been out of the lineup quite a bit since the before the all star break. It wasn't an excuse or argument for Camargo being a starter. It was clear that Camargo was rusty when called upon to start for Swanson. Joyce has also faded since his strong start due to lack of playing time. Only Culberson has somehow not done so, at least not yet.
