Yikes. I didn’t think about this. Sorry.

We've been saying that getting Folty or Gausman back to what we expect from them would be better than any realistic addition AA could have made at the deadline.
His .345 xwOBA vs the Twins last night suggests he wasn't as good as the overall line suggests.
For reference, Soroka posted an excellent .262 xwOBA on the 5th vs the same team.

Weird...Other than the 6th and the first batter, I don’t recall any hard hit balls off of him, and he struck out 7 over 5 which means he was missing bats. Only gave up 2 or 3 hits too.
I find that hard to believe based on what I saw, but the 6th inning may be skewing the number.

The 6th was bad. His numbers through the 5th would be a lot better and what you would want.

Good point...
xwOBA in the 6th: 1.061
xwOBA from 1-5: .195
So it looks like Snit once again left a SP in too long because he was "cruising". These types of mistakes can't be made in the playoffs.

The third time through the order penalty doesn't care about pitch counts or lengths of half innings.
These tactical mistakes can't be made in the playoffs.

In a blowout regular season game it's fine, but I have a feeling the same decision would have been made in a close playoff game as well.
I’m with Scheff. The playoffs are a different animal. The third time through the order with his pitch count approaching 100, you pull him.
Snit (or the front office) had a pretty quick hook in the NLDS last year. He took Newk out after a few innings.
