Gun Violence

I see you've already started. I'm calling Greenpeace!

I said conquer not kill. Big difference. I want to rule over them as Emperor of Antartica. It will be a benevolent reign.

I think the point is that's a pie in the sky sort of view. While it's a nice thought, this isn't a viable solution to anything.

Its the only solution. All this other crap is superficial nonsense to make people feel better that 'something' is being done.

Placing someone you disagree with politically on the same level as a mass killer is dangerous thinking.

Authoritarian rulers need sheeple to buy into their guilt by association fallacies. Please, think more critically than that.

thethe was literally down here wishing death on people he disagrees with politically less than a month ago. I called him on it.

Okay, took me a few to find it. I'd forgotten he wasn't alone, but was agreeing with sturg.

I really hope they mess with the wrong person one day and get an up close lesson of the 2nd amendment

This is why the second amendment exists. To prevent harm from an organized political mob. I too hope that some of these thugs are killed when they attack.

My two cents: people we can't block, that we're forced to see, should refrain from openly wishing death on people based on bat**** insane conspiracy theories.

So the only solution is to "just be better people." Wow.

We should apply that everything. It would end all wars. World Hunger would end. There'd be no crime. We'd never have any problems ever again.

Expecting everyone to just be better people is naive. We need actual solutions. We already preach unity and Harmony and tragedies like this still happen. That doesn't mean we should stop preaching that, but it's not a viable solution to real world problems.

It's rather odd you think this dystopian outlook is viable, yet you are so against socialism which is the same concept.

Pretty much my thoughts on the matter. People spout "background checks" and "mental health" when these incidents crop up and while I think stressing greater access to mental health services is a great idea, the perpetrators of these horrific deeds are the same people who are not likely to seek out help (generalization on my part). "Red Flag" laws may be more helpful, but that sidles up to the concept of involuntary commitment and, in some instances, allows local governments to selectively target certain owners of firearms and the benefit of that leeway is in the eye of the beholder. I don't know if lawmakers have the backbone to go down that road.

One thing I think this actually leads to, and it would take someone more knowledgeable than I of the ins and outs of these laws and institutions to make a good policy, is that we really do need increased detection and treatment of mental illness in children. There have been quite a few of these guys who were clearly really, really, really screwed up in school, never got help, then grew up and killed a bunch of people, with Dayton being the most recent example and Sandy Hook being the most horrific.

Thats your assessment? That i encourage people to defend themselves against violent assault?

This is the logic that we are dealing with. Fantastic.

We have become a fallen society. Until we fix the homes and morality nothing will change. Your actual solutions do nothing.

No, you were hoping for people to be killed over a debunked conspiracy theory pushed by Posobiec, an open white supremacist who also pushed the hell out of Pizzagate.

(and let us not forget that pizza joint was also shot up with a assault rifle by someone who believed Posobiec's BS and believed they needed to go protect children with force because of his words)

What in the hell are you talking about? More emotional nonsense devoid of fact.

You stated that I welcomed the murder of people who I didn't agree with politically. I asked you to refresh my memory because that is not something I would ever say.

Then you came back with a conversation that took place after a reporter was brutally beaten by Antifa thugs and I hoped that those that defended themselves with guns from assault would teach them a lesson.

Now you are bringing up pizzagate?

What is going on with the left?

No, you wanted people you disagreed with politically killed because the same white supremacist who pushed Pizzagate said they were throwing concrete laced milkshakes at people, and just like Pizzagate, the fact that it was completely ridiculous and totally debunked didn't matter. But I suppose you'll run away from that when someone with a plain old coconut milkshake is shot dead, just as you wished. (also, I'm not on the left, I'm just not on the fascist extremes of the right)

Who the **** cares if there was cement in the milkshake... there's video of the ****ing assault

Fascinating that you can ignore the clear assault that took place.

And that assault was not what you were talking about at the time. Period. You were basing your death wishes off of Posobiec's Twitter feed conspiracy theories, and now you're moving the goalpost after someone went out and actually killed people.

I do wish that gun owners would defend themselves against Antifa and send a lesson to the violent terrorist group.
