1st Trip to NYC

From your hotel you are 3 blocks away from the stretch of Lexington Avenue known as Curry Hill. It's a great area for Indian, Turkish, and other ethnic restaurants.

I'm pretty open minded when it comes to food, but I just can't do Indian food. Makes me sick every time I eat it. Maybe it's just places I've had them at, but it's never been a good experience for me.

What's the best Chinese Food you would recommend in China Town?

The two places I like for dim sum are Golden Unicorn on E Broadway and Ping's Seafood on Mott St.

Just remembered, my favorite Chinese restaurant is in Tribeca not Chinatown. China Blue. A bit pricier than the Chinatown places. Gotta pay that rent.

SSorry I meant to post in here last week. My trip was fantastic. I am not great at uploading pictures on this site or I'd post a few.

Ate at the following places:

Eataly in the Flat Iron district right down from our hotel the day we arrived. Really enjoyed the food and it was cool little market place, though we could tell it was more of a trendy place than truly authentic.
69 Bayard St in Chinatown at the suggestion of a local and wasn't disappointed (duck lo mein was excellent).
Johns on Bleeker was very good, but a little overrated I thought. Ate at another pizza place on 1st on day but don't recall the name. It was just ok.
No other memorable places to speak of.

Taking the Subway for the 1st time was an adventure. Once we got it figured out it wasn't too bad, but we missed our stops several times. My wife says she wouldn't have been able to go anywhere if she had to navigate it by herself.

Did/Saw the following places:
9/11 memorial and museum. Truly remarkable
Roosevelt Island
Hornblower cruise to the Statue of Liberty
Top of the Rock
St Patrick's Cathedral
Chelsea Market and surrounding neighborhoods
Museum of Natural History
Grand Central Station
Time Square for like 10 minutes (wife was tired/hungry and not thrilled with the crowds).
Central Park

Can't wait to go back.

Thanks to all who made suggestions.
