8/26 GDT: Braves @ Rockies

If we end up facing the Cardinals in the first round I want Julio in rotation. He pitched two strong games against them this year. You don't want him vs the Dodgers but certain teams he is really good against.

In terms of higher order winning percentages (the ones with most predictive value), the Braves have been lucky this year by 7-10 wins. That mark is the highest in all MLB. A large piece of that luck is the 25-13 record in 1-run games.

The good news is that while the Nats are likely a bit better than the Braves, the present lead is likely too much to overcome.

I expected a let down this week with the crazy travel, I just thought it would be in Toronto or at home against Chicago. Hopefully we got our only loss this week out of the way.

I can almost promise you that this will not be our only loss this week.

Agree Swarzak has been not good lately but to blame the "BP" is way off base. Blame Swarzak not the whole BP.

Truthfully want to blame something, try 1-12 w/RISP!! Or blame all of our "big guns" going 0fer--Acuna, Freddie, JD, and Swanson. Combined 12 LOB

I didn't see anyone blame Snits for his inability to manage the BP.

Snit did a fine job with the pen.

Greene and MM were probably off today. I guess maybe go to Newk for a clean inning. But yeah, do agree it's more on the offense, they could have easily put 3-5 off of Melville.

Just IMO, why wait to use Swarzak/Blevins in the 9th. Use them earlier and keep the more solid guys(Jackson/Martin) for the 8th/9th. Swarzak and Blevins are not 9th inning guys IMO.

Blevins was used to face 2 lefties, the batter just went deep, thats baseball, happens alot. He was used fine.

A bad win is when you win but one of your key players gets hurt. Like a good win but at what cost did it come with it.

yea like the Marlins destroying Philly but losing Anderson to a broken hand. Maybe not such a bad win for them given the score and that they are going no where but losing him makes that line-up really bad IMO.
