As a society we will have to decide this. If a family member thinks someone should undergo an evaluation we will have to devise a process that balances some competing interests.
 
30 victims of active shooter(s) in Odessa , Texas.

This is all happening while GOP and their followers try to decide what is and how to treat mental illness.

Get the guns off of the street ---- then decide what is and isnt mental illness

Okay, wait now. Wouldn't one of those definitively show where you live and that you're voting in the right place, while with the other you could be required to vote in an entirely different state?

No other rich country other than the United States has routine

mass shootings and such a staggeringly high number of gun deaths. This is

a uniquely American problem. Other countries have

video games and mental illness.

It’s the gun laws.

you counter with (or were told of) one knife attack clear across the earth that killed one and injured 9.

Even so, for a critical thinking big brained math guy cant see it doesn't quite work out to 5 dead 20+ injured v 1dead 9 injured
And it is still Saturday, we have 2 more days of holiday.
