GDT 9/2/19: Happy Labor Day!!!

Every game picked-up on nats at this point is just huge. 6.5 and 5 in loss column (assuming we hold this), and we have one more with Jays while they have two with Mets.

DeGrom/Scherzer on Tuesday is must-see TV.

Wheeler/Sanchez is a toss up as well, would be nice if we could go into that game with a big lead, dont love the pitching matchups this weekend.

Slowly learning to trust that we have a pen that can close out games. And the team depth shows as we win with certain players injured or simply ice cold.

Melancon has been golden these past two weeks. He really got roughed up a couple of times in his early going as a Brave, but here's hoping he can keep it rolling.

PS--Hope the Mets can keep it up against the Zombie Expos.

i think Culberson is needing what Camargo got in AAA, regular ab's to get back on his game. i doubt he gets that this year so he might not even make the post season roster because of snit and his crazy view that more ab's makes Culberson slump.

It can work both ways and I frankly don't know what it is with Culberson. Give some guys too many ABs and they get exposed. Give other guys too few and they can't get their timing down. I think it's the latter with Camargo, but I can go either way in my assessment of Culberson.

Culberson has been the luckiest Braves hitter the last 2 years in limited exposure. That luck has run out and Culberson is looking more like the ~.270 xwOBA true talent guy he actually is.

Culberson doesn’t “need” anything other than being used as the player he actually is: a versatile bench player that isn’t very good offensively. He’s basically Hech with less SS ability and more OF ability.
