GDT 9/2/19: Happy Labor Day!!!

A pitcher can improve and also be very lucky, his 2017 numbers were terrible against them. So he isn't as great as the .190 BAA suggests. OK I can buy that but I don't buy that he hasn't improved vs lefties since 2017.

True luck does not rule out improvement...but small sample always warrants caution...that's what my fortune cookie said last night anyhow

It's more a matter of which larger samples you give the most weight, those from this year or those from two years ago. The smaller samples included are just trends to consider along with that.

With Ryu I think his career numbers pretty much tell the story as far as splits go.

For his career he has a better strikeout rate against righties. And a slightly better walk rate against righties. Better FIP and xFIP against righties.
