Gun Violence

man, i would so feel less free if i couldn't easily buy an AK-47

so unfree not having to worry about some ****wad shooting me up for going to have a beer or eating some tacos for dinner or going to see a movie or seriously anything else

it would be so much tyranny happening if that was to happen

Are you worried about those things now?

I normally don't engage in right wing pedantics of false equivalence, but the closest I'll get is, it's very telling how quick Trump and Co. were so quick to jump on the ban flavored e-cigarettes ban after 6 deaths to "protect the youth", but the guy folds like a piece of paper to the NRA within 24 hours after every mass shooting. Talk about showing all your cards on the opening hand. But we already knew he is willing to say anything about anything if enough money gets thrown his way.

Flavored e-cig ban is a mistake. Its an overexertion of government that will not end up serving Trumps re-election bid.

What needs to happen is harsh penalties for Vape stores that sell to underage kids because those stores are directly targeting minors.

2 Chicago gangbangers executed a 9-year-old boy in a revenge killing against his father's rival gang. The boy’s father is now in jail for a shooting in retaliation of his sons slaying.

That’s beyond sad.

Reminds me of the cop who runs over and kills a little girl then shoots the father when he goes after the cop for murdering his daughter.

A San Antonio man bought an AR-15 for his 14-year-old grandson, who then shot his friend in the head unintentionally.

A reminder that 14-year-olds can’t be trusted with an iPhone, let alone a loaded gun. The child and his grandfather have been arrested.

Breaking:
In a blow to gun industry, the Supreme Court won’t stop a

lawsuit brought by Sandy Hook victims’ families against Remington Arms,

the manufacturer of the semi-automatic rifle used in the crime.

The Court decided not to take up an appeal by Remington.

I saw this earlier. I hate stories like this. Interlocutory appeals to the SCOTUS are difficult. The court tends to like to wait to see if the appellant wins at trial because if they do, that's one less case for the SCOTUS. Remington can still appeal if they lose at trial.

They’ll appeal if they lose and then the Supreme Court will side with Remington. Unless it can be proven without a doubt that the guns should not have been released to the public

Once upon a time you could replace the word "Remington" with RJ Reynolds

Difference is the federal statute protecting gun companies. I caution anyone from cheering the courts circumventing the federal statute. Remember, the road you pave can be walked by others.
