Magic Number Thread

Pure back of the napkin opinionated guesswork here, but: 3.9 WAR this year (I'm assuming he adds another 0.1), holding steady for around 11.7 WAR from 20-22, around 14 total from 23-29, before becoming a replacement level or worse player for the last two years of the deal. Which would only total 29.6 WAR, well short of 41.

This Jack Flaherty kid looks like he’s going to be the game 1 starter for the Cards. He’s on quite a roll right now.

Would be great to see Acuna and Freddie go on a tear heading into the playoffs. Nothing will sting more than St. Louis Cardinals voodoo **** in the postseason.

Not worried so much about their pitching - I think Goldy could get hot and they have some nice pieces around him. Should be a good series.

He's pitching tonight against the Brewers and gave up 3 runs. He, like Soroka, is someone that might have their innings monitored. He's already surpassed his total from last year by over 20

Well their pitching is their strength. I think top 5 staff in the majors this year last I checked. So you should be worried about their pitching.

Eliminating the Phils is so sweet. That team was sure they had the division in the bag at the start of the year.

McCutchen going down really derailed their season but their lack of pitching depth is why they are why they are, and overall depth in general. They dont have the organizational depth to withstand injuries like other clubs do.
