Preparing for the Cards in the NLDS

Ortega made the roster per Bowman. Ugh.

Much better choice than Riley, given the opponent; and, though it’s more debatable, I’d still rather have any non-Hamilton LH bench bat over a twelfth pitcher.

Agreed. The 6 man bench is probably Flowers, Cervelli, Duvall, Hamilton, Hech, Ortega.

This is exactly what I wanted to see so the Braves can counter the RHSP/Webb/RHBP/Miller series of pitchers with Joyce/Duvall/Ortega/RHH/Hamilton in the middle/late innings, and allows them to more liberally PH and PR for Mac/Flowers as needed.

I figured they would want Teheran over Tomlin, but I suppose his familiarity with coming out of the BP got him the nod over Julio, so I cant argue too much. This idea the Braves needed more than 1 mop up guy was always a bit silly.

The parts are there, so now it's up to Snit to deploy them properly throughout the game. There is no excuse for the FO not to prepare him for the 10-15 most likely scenarios to occur, and the corresponding moves planned ahead of time.

#Braves’ Freeman on simulated game Tuesday: “I didn’t feel my elbow at all. I’m really looking forward to tomorrow because I think I’m gonna be 100 percent.”

Freddie keeps saying this and yet he still takes awkward swings.

I don’t think we get the real Freddie back until next season.

Cards haven't announced their roster yet but there is some reporting they will carry a third lefty in the pen, Genesis Cabrera. Makes sense if they want to get the matchups against our lefty hitters.

But Reeksma/Klob is better? My elder age could hit a homer off him.

He sucks.

He has Lockhart pictures, it has to be.

The Cards don't really have a guy where a LHP is needed, so I understand not needing Blevins.

Fowler is the closest thing to a RHP masher they have. Newk is in the BP, and Fried isn't starting the 1st 3 games.

Kolton Wong has pronounced career splits and the announced he will be in the lineup tomorrow. I also think Carpenter will play against our RH starters.
