Impeachment

So far, nothing that has come out about the Ukraine call has really screamed impeachment offense to me. Wrong? Sure, but it's generally on the level of what I expect from politicians.

using the tools of the national security apparatus for the purpose of strong arming a vulnerable country into manufacturing dirt on a political opponent imo easily meets the standard of an impeachable abuse of office

Trump has not paid the bill to up to 10 cities for rallies he's campaigned at. That should be an impeachable offense lol. He's trying to sue Minnesota because they're asking him to pay upfront since he's stiffed other cities already.

*Manufacturing*?

It seems to me there's enough evidence to establish quid pro quo. But what's more damning is the obstruction that is clearly being displayed. They aren't even trying to hide it at this point.

Will the house do an actual impeachment inquiry or dance around it to protect the red state democrats?

You put impeachment on the table and I guarantee you will get full cooperation. Just like with the Mueller probe.

You sure thats the word to produce information already exists?

Manufacture - invent or fabricate (evidence or a story).

Hmm - We will see about that.

it is my word for what the Chosen One was asking the Ukrainians to do...I chose it with care

American diplomats who had pushed for the Trump administration to restore security funding to Ukraine were advised by the White House to play down the release of the money when it was finally approved, documents show.

“Keep moving, people, nothing to see here …” Brad Freden, the State Department’s acting deputy assistant secretary overseeing issues in Europe and Eurasia, wrote in a Sept. 12 email obtained by The New York Times.

And of course there is this part, which we all know about:

William B. Taylor Jr., the top American envoy in Kiev, wrote in a Sept. 9 text message that it was “crazy to withhold security assistance for help with a political campaign.” In response, Gordon D. Sondland, the United States ambassador to the European Union, wrote that “the President has been crystal clear: no quid pro quo’s of any kind.”

Mr. Sondland then suggested that the conversation continue by telephone, rather than by text. On Tuesday, the Trump administration blocked Mr. Sondland from testifying to the House in the impeachment inquiry.

yes, I think this does rise to the level of an impeachable abuse of office

I saw that. He has the audacity to praise the law enforcement while not paying the cities for their use of said law enforcement.

There was way more to go on that Trump colluded with Russia, but somehow that claim was baseless according to you.

Hmmmm

The thing I just want to say over and over to Trump supporters is: "You don't have to do this."

There is literally no reason why you have to defend this bull****.

Vote to impeach, don't vote to impeach, but how the hell are you still carrying water for this asshole?

Just let him lose.

Using the tools of office to try to leverage an advantage on a political opponent is about 95% of what American politicians do.

Again, it just doesn't resonate with me as so beyond the pale that it warrants impeachment.

The President thumbing his nose at Constitutional process does.

By that standard, Nixon’s attempt to use the CIA and DoJ to cover up the Watergate burglary was ok.

I think there is some obtuseness here on your part not to see the difference between using the backdrop of the Rose Garden for a nice photo op and trying to muscle another country into participating in a disinformation campaign against a political opponent. Especially in light of what happened in 2016.

If Trump isnt impeached the laws he broke dont exist for Presidents anymore. The next Democratic President can openly require other countries to open into Moscow Mitch and any Republican members of Congress. Maybe foreign aid is going to be dependant on opening into Trump and his kids. There's far more smoke of corruption surrounding the Trumps than Biden.
