This offseason is gonna be pretty tricky. JD and DK are both free agents and Mac may retire. If another team over values Donaldson then we may need to address 3b and C both, and no Riley isn’t gonna cut it as the full time 3b. Markakis has to go so a COF is gonna really be needed that can actually hit. Teheran’s option is a big question mark so we could lose 2 starters this offseason also. So we are gonna need a 3b, C, SP, and a real COF. Here’s what I’d try to do.

Sign JD for 2 years 50 million with a 3rd year option
Trade for Starling Marte
Sign Grandal for 2 years 38 million. Go high AAV to take a shorter deal
Check price tag on Bumgarner and Hamels for that veteran lefty

JD is going to get a 4th year on some deal. I'd load up on pitching and catcher.

Offer Cole 7 years at 210 but frontload 110 in first 3 years then give a player opt out.

Grandal 2 for 40

Let Pache start in center and put Ender in LF

Sign Martin for 3 years 21 million

Give Camargo/Riley another shot at 3b.

Starting rotation:

Cole
Folty
Soroka
Fried
Anderson

Pitching and defense.

I'd seriously check to see what the market is on Freddie Freeman. Now's the time. Move him while we can still demand a good return and before serious decline sets in. It avoids us paying a huge salary in a couple years to a guy in sharp decline.

After that post season you could probably sell the idea of passing the torch to Acuna more easily too.

I'd love to sign Cole and trade for Mookie.

So I'm prepared for the Braves to sign some 37 year old starter for super cheap and then completely ignore the corner OF spots.

I would love Cole but there's no chance in hell we'd get him. Only the upper-level payroll teams will be able to afford him.

You can offer him more than 30 per year in a front loaded deal and entice him to opt out. Just get the production of his prime years and let another team pay for his decline years.

Braves have money.

Can't use the excuse of having to worry about signing Acuna and Ozzie. So I can't wait to see what BS they come up with.

Lol at the emotional dramatic takes from suicidal Braves fans.

They aren’t signing Cole, and they aren’t dumping Freeman. Anyone suggesting such moves are incapable of rational thought, and their suggestions can be safely ignored.

The plan for the off season should be:

Offer JD a QO.

Try to get Grandal on a 1-2 year high AAV deal.

Sign the best 3b on a 1-2 year deal possible...perhaps JD, maybe Mous.

Sign the best RHH OFer without a QO attached.

Gather inexpensive BP arms to shuttle up and down between AAA/MLB.

Look for impact players on 1-2 year contracts with limited surplus value so they can be acquired without giving up elite young talent in trade.

Keep enough cash in reserve to make impact acquisitions as needed during the season.

Build another 90 win team and take another shot at the postseason.

I thought Freeman had more than 2 years left on his deal. I thought it was like 5. Ignore my suggestion to trade him. If he had 5 years left, I'd shop him.

Question for Enscheff: In 2018 Camargo put up 3.7 WAR, still pre arb, Donaldson OTOH, injury past, getting older, started season slow, finished slow, 2019 WAR 6.1 Question is couldn't that money be better used filling other needs?

Can we please finally #BanEnscheff? Dude is a giant douche and ruins every thread.

He is just realistic!!

Braves are not going to sign Cole and no one with a QO attach. We have Wright and Anderson waiting for a shot.

We need to give time to our prospects to mature.

Welcome back, but unfortunately you'll have to wait a few hours for Enscheff to answer your question. He's on hiatus for the next few hours for being overly flirtatious.

Which is all a sneaky way of saying...

"We have a literal **** ton of cash but want to keep it for ourselves instead of making the team better."

Do you honestly believe Camargo is capable of approaching 3.7 WAR again?
