He'll be going into his age 34/35/36 seasons on a 3 year deal, i dont see AA overpaying some of JD's decline years. But maybe he does.

Signing a player for their declining seasons is not necessarily a bad thing. Depends on whether the risk of decline is appropriately priced in. I think the way the market is these days, older players are often good value.
