I swear if we roll out Riley at 3rd base while paying Will Smith and Mark Melancon 27 million dollars I'm going to blow a freaking gasket.

I'm ok with Riley/Camargo if they add Castellanos or Ozuna. They need something for cleanup or FF legit might break Bonds, walk record. But this.

I am upset but at the same time happy because Donaldson is 34 years old. Now we will have enough money to extend other players.

Ignoring differences in team health (negative or positive) from '19 to '20 and the possibility of players getting better or worse, what's the difference between a season of Donaldson and a season of Camargo at 3rd? 50 runs, at a guess?

We were 3rd in the NL in runs. 43 fewer runs would have placed us 6th. 65 fewer would have placed us 7th. How confident do we feel that the pitching and defense is strong enough to carry a middle of the pack offense?

Passan- Josh Donaldson’s deal with the Minnesota Twins will pay him $84 million over the first four years and includes a $16 million club option with an $8 million buyout. In total, it’s $92 million guaranteed with a chase to go to $104 million if Donaldson hits escalators on the option.

Welp. That seems doable. Perhaps the claims of a $150 million OD payroll were exaggerated

Yeah I miss what he was last year but think if he were here we'd be missing it by year three if not before, and paying a lot of money to boot.

Without a legit cleanup hitter we are in trouble. Bryant will be the target imo. As soon as they get news on the grievance we should see something soon.
