REAL FOOTBALL Thread

Yeah, I think its a little understated the talent that the Seahawks have to work with. Their GM has done a masterful job the last three years in the draft. Remarkable how quick that team turned it around.

As a set they're great. Sure they could be better and he's not working with the best set of weapons. But its not like he's working with the gronkless pats

Hmmm.... they are not great as a set. No one in the NFL would say that. Fans might, but fans are well...fanatical.

I would say what makes them "great as a set" is their QB. A great QB makes not-great weapons look great "as a set." At least IMO.

Lynch, Baldwin, Tate and Miller are great weapons

I would hardly say "great" weapons. Aside from Lynch none of these guys are close to being in the upper echelon of their position. Tate, Baldwin and Miller are solid, but nothing all that special. All are easily replaceable and interchangeable.

This is why i think it may be true.

Ron Rivera impressed with seeing Seahawks calling out Saints plays presnap and adjusting; challenged his players to know opponent so well

From Werder.

That was from early last week.

Probably not true but to put it short, rumor is Seattle may have pulled a Spygate on the Saints.

Not sayin its true, probably not but i find it odd it seemed the Seahawks knew everything the Saints were doing from start to finish.

Does a rumor on a saints board really count as a rumor?
As someone in that thread pointed out, taping a walk through 24 hours before a game would not allow a team to know what another team is doing from start to finish.
The Saints just got beat, outsmarted, outcoached. It happens.

If you can call out their plays and adjust to it, you must know something.

I dont disagree they just got beat but i've never seen the Saints O under Drew/Payton that bad.

Probably not true though.

If they taped every practice all week, that's a little different. The guy says he just taped their walkthrough, which happens a day before the game, correct? So the Seahawks would have had 24 hours to watch just this walkthrough and figure out everything the Saints were doing from there.
If they can do that, that's a smart football team full of great coaches and they deserved to win anyways.

Most teams figured out what Matt Ryan's gameplan was.

Option 1: Throw to Tony Gonzalez in double coverage.
Option 2: Throw a deep pass to Julio Jones.
Option 3: Throw to Tony Gonzalez in triple coverage.
Option 4: Throw any pass to Roddy White.
Option 5: Throw a slant route to slot receiver.

Belichick for years had Peyton's number, so I wouldn't be surprised if Seattle has just figured out other teams tendencies and had a great gameplan for SEA.

Too much is said about that stuff. Defenses know what offenses are going to run all the time, but they still have to stop it. Offenses through in wrinkles for sure, but most offensive coordinators have their basic plays that they like to run.

He should have never even played this year. Just screwed that kids career up. Hope he bounces back next year.
