government bailouts.
Certain you have worked in offices where it was posted "lack of preparation on your part does not constitute an emergency on my part ?"

Cruise lines ?
Airlines ?
Hotels ?

and now we learn Whole Foods is having a sick in tomorrow with no doubt many more to follow
Why ?

There was a time when unions were prepared to shoulder some of the load --- but they were taken apart
Why?

My first and last guess has to do with voting blocs.
Putting the coffers in the hands of …. yeah you guessed it.
Cruise lines, hotels,Airlines etc etc etc

This latest brand of socio-economic engineering on the heals of a 2 year ago government hand out, has to have provisions banning the POTUS from profiting from this stimulus.
Think about that for a while

I am left to wonder, why a forced shutdown of , as of today only a few weeks, and the system is unable to survive ?
Why is our economic system so fragile and broken that it requires $2T infusion not every 10 years as the question so generously asked, but in this case, every 2 years?

I know when it comes to health care, food stamps, welfare etc the question is why aren't those people doing a better job of managing their money. Bootstraps or some other nonsense.

We haven't paid for the last corporate bailouts. Why are these business' so broken they NEED a socialistic response?

Whole bunch of questions - a dollar next to a do- nut - are all answered with questions.

Yeah. Literally all problems faced my any economic system. Just in this case we can name our company “Whole Foods” instead of “The National Organic Overpriced Food Market”

I really hope thethe is right. And victims who paid into a system that promised they would be covered rather than again, "fend for themselves"
I am not holding my breath

There is already plenty of support that shows our medical system is handling it better but in reality it's because the leftist leaders of the EU wouldnt **** their borders.

Poor old people of italy. What a massacre.

I wasn't talking about the "medical system" I was talking about the medical / insurance industry
Not one in the same

The type of system drives the quality of care.

When you don't incentivise as much you won't get the same quality.

That isn't economics. Thats human nature.

If you can present the fundamentals of an economy that can survive without 3 months of production, than be my guest. Remember, the base line for comparison is how the US recovers.

I already told you how they do it. They rely on tax payer bailouts that favor them and spit on the rest.
You seem to be ignoring our politics are lobbyist driven. Campaign financed driven

Rest assured as history tells us in the wake of past stimulus bailouts, they will enrich themselves then plead poverty when it rolls belly up.
in fact a "socialist" a nationalized system would in fact be a bull work against your situation
Exception being the auto bailouts, that were in fact repaid with interest

Do we really need to be so reliant on a handful of business' ?

no, that isn't human nature, that is capitalism.
Health care is not a commodity

I see doctors, nurses and caregivers volunteering to work with victims knowing full well there is a good chance they will never see the monetary reward. People emptying bedpans for chrise sake !!!
The entire medical community (not industry, community) my eyes see banded together to dispel medicine. As they were trained.
I prefer that definition of human nature

In a crisis people are selfless. That has limited shelf life.

we disagree, Generally, If people are treated with respect they return respect in kind.
If people are diminished they act out. History tells us that too.

Agree or disagree with his conclusions/solutions , Karl Marx crosses all his tee's and dots all his I's spelling out as much

I think Bush43's favorite philosopher spoke the same

You know a whole lot of those people who have lost their jobs here in the

US due to coronavirus aren't getting them back, right? The UK, Canada, and

elsewhere have made it so that things can go back to normal quickly.

We decided, "**** it. Let 'em be fired."

Humans dont care about the human species when comparing to those that are localized to the individual (family/friends).

Long term models expecting every person to love and respect others will always fail.

Do you not agree that a man or woman cares most for those closest to them?

And unemployment benefits are said to be extended for 4 months. When demand is back almost all of those jobs will be back and we will have fantastic employment numbers yet again.

Wrong answer. Didn’t read the prompt.

you'll have to take that up with Meta. I no longer take those types conversations with you.
But I will say for the umpteenth time - Over 15 years , 2 boards , 3 Presidents and 3 Braves managers
I think people that enter and stay in the medical profession are driven by reasons other than money

capitalism is so great

it needs its side chick of socialism to save it every 10 years
