Reality Has Endorsed Bernie Sanders
By Keeanga-Yamahtta Taylor
March 30, 2020

The debate over the role of government in addressing income inequality, housing insecurity, debt accumulation, and health care continues, now against the grim backdrop of the raging coronavirus. It is difficult to articulate the speed with which the U.S. and, indeed, the world, has descended into an existential crisis.

For years, the United States has gotten away with persistently chipping away at its weak welfare state by hiding or demonizing the populations most dependent on it. The poor are relegated as socially dysfunctional and inept, unable to cash in on the riches of American society. There are more than forty million poor people in the U.S., but they almost never merit a mention. While black poverty is presented as exemplary, white poverty is obscured, and Latinos and other brown people’s experiences are ignored. As many as four in five Americans say they live paycheck to paycheck. Forty per cent of Americans say that they cannot cover an unexpected four-hundred-dollar emergency expense.

another excerpt from the above:

The crisis is laying bare the brutality of an economy organized around production for the sake of profit and not human need. The logic that the free market knows best can be seen in the prioritization of affordability in health care as millions careen toward economic ruin. It is seen in the ways that states have been thrown into frantic competition with one another for personal protective equipment and ventilators—the equipment goes to whichever state can pay the most. It can be seen in the still criminally slow and inefficient and inconsistent testing for the virus. It is found in the multi-billion-dollar bailout of the airline industry, alongside nickel-and-dime means tests to determine which people might be eligible to receive ridiculously inadequate public assistance.

If I am not mistaken, in the past half century Venezuela consciously put all of the chips of their economy solely on oil. When for reasons I have forgotten their oil industry bottomed out there went their economy.

Our economy is far more diverse and with built in resilience . Venezuela gambled and lost

this is a good place to start

Venezuela made it impossible to make a profit producing anything in Venezuela which led to them being dependent upon importing most goods. Venezuela would do things like double the minimum wage and then make it illegal to raise prices. There were crazy **** like if you own a pie shop you could sell 50 pies per day for whatever price you wanted then you could only sell them for what amounted to a loss. So Pie shop owners would sell 50 a day and then close. No point in being open if you are guaranteed to make a loss in that time.

what is so amazing ?

He all but has wrapped up the nomination and what can he do besides just let Trump keep talking.

If Austin Riley shows you he cant handle breaking stuff away, why throw him fastballs middle in?
Any proposals he makes with any notion of detail gives you and your lil' buddy months to tear apart

Why do (R) insist on telling (D) who and how to run elections
Even worse? Why does (D) listen ?

go to bed

which begs the question, will you be voting for Gary Johnson again ?
Where has he been ?--- leader of a movement that helped propel Trump ---

will Libertarians field a candidate in 2020 or simply troll and shout shallow insults ?
Or perhaps -------- they have their guy

Biden should be all over the media. He should have his campaign people all over the media pushing a unified and cohesive message. As Trump has proved if you say something loud enough and long enough some people will believe it. Democrats just dont understand messaging. One example that stuck out at me was when Elizabeth Warren brought up Bloomberg funding Lindsey Graham. You dont just say "Lindsey Graham" when referring to him you say "One of the most corrupt Congressmen Lindsey Graham. I know it doesnt seem like a big deal but after this Conservative media will being it up on their shows throwing a pity party for themselves but you have shifted the conversation to them being on the defensive. Democrats are constantly on the defensive and refuse to go on the attack.

We dont owe anyone our vote. Hillary could have easily won another million or two votes if she was a strong supporter of legalization. Instead much of that support went for the unknown in Trump rather than the devil we already know in Hillary. And now your party has gone and doubled down on this stupidity. If it wasnt for the coronavirus Biden would have no chance whatsoever. I wouldnt vote for Biden if the opponent was zombie Hitler.

Polls now showing Biden in a near tie with Trump. Only 24% of Democrats are enthusiastic about voting for Biden whereas Trump is over 50%. Cant wait for the peoppe who tried to warn people that Biden was going to lose are blamed for him losing. I thought the virus would give him a chance. I actually wont be surprised if Trump actually does get 50-100% more black voters as Biden might as well be a KKK grand cyclops with his record on civil rights.
