Yeah, the death totals are pretty slow coming in, too. People were talking about NYC plateauing over the weekend when the death total for 3/31 was ~150. That number has now doubled to over 300. You can't take the daily counts seriously for at least a week at this point.

Why is Berenson discredited on this specific topic.
I think its dangerous to immediately dismiss any voice that is skeptical. But I'm open to hear why he is a problem

I dont recall you ever pushing the story as the next big OMB scandal. Goldy, Zito, Sav come to mind. They've been silent.

Berenson is the one who started the outright fabrication that the Imperial College model changed. You've repeated this exact falsehood in this thread, possible picking it up yourself directly from Berenson. He then refused to back down when even Ferguson, the author of the model, explained public how nothing had changed.

Thanks for the link. I'm not sure where I heard the IC model changing. Could have been Berenson.
Regardless, I'm drawn to his analysis on the consistent (good) news with the shortcomings of the IHME, as well as the over capacity of beds and and now seemingly ventilator. He is telling a side of the story the mainstream media is not. I'm sure he is cherry picking some, but what is he saying that is in and of itself, wrong?

I'm yelling at people for false media. Berenson analysis on this seems quite solid from my vantage point. If it is definitively wrong, can you show me where?
CNN has an article right on the homepage the other day that was headlined and said only 20 hospital beds were used on the naval ship that docked into the Hudson. And how they had not begun to use all the needed ventilators yet.

The main problem with everything he is saying is that his fundamental premise:
"WE TANKED THE ECONOMY FOR THISS??????"
Is incredibly stupid. No. We tanked to economy to avoid a much worse outcome. Everything else I'm reading on his timeline is based on a fundamental failure to grasp this basic idea.
This is, unsurprisingly, very similar to the dumb lie he told about the IC model.

I'm referring to the data I just mentioned above.
Number of hospitalization compared to IHME model. Number of icu beds compared to it. Number of deaths. Lack of available beds and ventilators.
That is what I follow him for. The daily updates.
Are his updates wrong?
