REAL FOOTBALL Thread

I hate Goodell so much. Democrats will probably nominate him in 2024 just to really piss me off.

Eh, I totally agree with you, but I see him as more of a Repub. He likes to rule with an iron fist, take all the credit for everything good, and blame somebody else for all the problems. Sound familiar?

Gronk to the Bucs

Everyone in New England is pissed. They were sad when Brady left, but are pissed at Gronk. More or less calling him soft.

I think it will be funny they go through all this, and don't win the division.Show Brady life ain't' so good outside of the AFC Least when you get 7 bye weeks.

Jets and Bills will be very good teams this year.

Someone's always supposed to be good in that division. Sometimes it happens. Pats have won that division I think 11 times in a row? I could be wrong on that. And they've only lost it twice since Brady took over as QB.Part of that is how bad the AFC East is, Brady's Pats were 86-22 vs AFC East and 133-44 vs the rest of the league.

AFC east for basically all of Brady's tenure has been a Joke. Their "toughest" competition was Rex Ryan's Jets. Buttfumble was their "toughest' competition. That was their most sustained pressure, some highlights of passing leader on AFC East teams in that time frame, Chad PEnnington, Chad Henne, AJ Feeley, Ryan Tannehill, Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, Ryan Fitzpatrick (fun bit of info, he's started for every AFC east team) Josh McCown, Brooks Bollinger, Tyrod Taylor, Trent Edwards, EJ Manuel, JP Losman, and Kelly Holcomb. There are a few decent names there, but Brady is leaving that behind to fight Drew Brees, Matt Ryan, and Cam Newton and he's leaving BB for Bruce Arians. This is gonna be a fight Brady has never dealt with in the regular season.

Agreed on the historical period. Impossible to argue that.

Just saying what I think moving forward.

Not a believer in Josh Allen.

Darnold is much better IMO and will elevate the Jets faster.

Allen is raw, I'll definitely give you that and Darnold is much more polished, but to me the Jets don't have much other than Darnold except for Leveon Bell and it can't be good that his coach or GM doesn't even want him there. They have a poor OL and arguably their best defensive player, the Lewis kid wants out of there ASAP. The Bills have a pretty good young RB, they just picked up Stefon Diggs and they have a really good defense. They are definitely my pre-season pick to win the East, unless Belichick pulls another Brady out of his arse, which with him is always a possibility.

Brady doesn't have any excuses. The most talent he's ever had to work with. I think the Bucs will be dangerous.

I've learned never to count out a Belicheck team, but IMO the Bills are the team to beat in the AFC east this (hopefully) upcoming season

2009, Belichick didn't have Brady and started Matt Cassel and went 11-5. I wouldn't bet that Belichick couldn't make Stidham into a 4000 yard passer if he wanted to.

That's not true, the 16-0 season he had Randy MOss, Welker, and Maroney. They did so much damage.

Bucs are putting all the chips in. WIll be interesting to see if it pays off since the Falcons also did their best to go all in getting Fowler, Gurley and Hurst.

Gronk, Evans, Godwin, and Brate >>>>>>>>

And this is before the draft. They could easily add a top RB like Swift.

Randy Moss is arguably the most talented WR to play the game. I also forgot they had Ben Watson who was a rock solid TE. So Moss, Welker, and Watson

I also forgot about the team Brady had when he had Gronk, Hernandez, Welker, and Branch.

I'll be shocked if Gronk plays 12 games this year, Dude has been wrecked in his career.
