The Coronavirus, not the beer

A researcher from THL estimated that the peak of COVID-19 epidemic in Finland has passed, Finnish national broadcaster Yle reported on Tuesday.

If the anti-epidemic measures continue to remain valid and human behavior does not change, the disease will fade, Simopekka Vanska, a senior researcher at THL, told Yle, emphasizing that the estimate is based on the assumption that the anti-epidemic restrictions would remain the same.

According to Vanska, the figure for infectivity (R0) has fallen lower than the forecast made by THL at the end of March. At that time, it was estimated that the figure would be close to 1.6, but now it is under 1.0.

Since the COVID-19 pandemic spread to Finland, the Finnish government have carried out a series of restrictive measures to curb the spread of the disease, including closing borders, shutting down schools and other educational institutes, limiting public gatherings to ten people, encouraging remote working, shutting down restaurants, cafes and bars. The measures have clearly slowed down the spread of the virus.

Vanska added that the government must now choose which strategy to adopt next in the fight against the disease.

You are not questioning it...you are straight up denying it and saying that we "know" that the exact opposite is true.

That's right. On the one hand he demands "proof" that New Zealand and Australia would not have done better under alternative policies. But when it comes to his pet theories, it is bald assertion after bald assertion with nothing close to any sort of solid evidence.

It doesn't need anything else other than our crashed economy and Swedens result that mirror ours despite our CCP lockdown.

Should we compare the trajectory of the virus here before the lockdowns could have impacted anything?

You want to compare to nations that could not be more different than ours and treat that as proof.

Please

and when caught out, the standard response is a word salad devoid of meaning

Sure thing nsacpi.

Happy to discuss the trajectories of Sweden in comparison to the US as well where the virus was headed before the lockdowns.

But you don't want to talk about those things. Just like you don't want to talk about all of your hair brained collusion narratives that you spouted for a couple of years that proved to be complete bull****. It will be the same thing here and you won't ever address it again.

Sweden, again, reporting a record # of new cases for 2 days in a row. 132 deaths reported today. The last 3 Fridays combined haven't even reported 132 deaths (though Friday the 10th was Good Friday).

Both the rate of cases and deaths are growing in Sweden.

sweden has a death per capita number a multiple of its neighbors

it has a death per capita number higher than the United States...something to brag about considering how shambolic our approach has been

now imagine if our death per capita number had been a multiple of what it has been...i dare say our economy would be in worse shape even if every level of government had been urging people to continue living their lives as if nothing was happening

Wait....

Tehteh is now trying deny his god suggested injecting disinfectant into human beings? After the man literally said exactly that?

Ok, let’s compare IQs...

He is pulling the most epic troll campaign ever lol.

Rate of cases are not growing close to what we were told was going to happen. It's essentially flat which means total lockdowns were useless.

Deaths are lagging and EVERYONE said they would grow.

But I'm happy to wait for the discussions to prevent all major causes of death. Those fat people got to go

You know exactly why their deaths are higher now but you want to be misleading just like in the past. Its Its ok I've come to expect it from you.

Let's see what happens when the nordic neighbors open up and how much their destroyed economies kill kn the future.

It's super fantastic that you guys don't care about families that cant feed their kids.

Who said that it would dissipate in the summer again and was mocked for it?

Absurd that our southern most nations shut down. What a joke.

Flat out not happening in places like FINLAND, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia, Canada. And many other countries. With good policy, would NOT happen here.

But thanks for bringing it up and showing YOU care.

We keep seeing record highs in Sweden for both deaths and new cases every week. But it's essentially flat.... right.

Ecuador. It is being shut down in New Zealand and Australia because of policies adopted. The weather might help some. But it is policy. Other southern hemisphere countries are not doing so well.

That's rich coming from you. I mean you are wrong in every sense. But it's super hypocritical that you all of a sudden care about kids being fed considering your policies pre-rona.

The long term remains to be seen. But I'm confident children will not be going hungry anytime soon in FINLAND, Denmark, New Zealand, Australia and Canada.
