The document urges candidates to stay relentlessly on message against the country when responding to any questions about the virus. When asked whether the spread of the coronavirus is Trump’s fault, candidates are advised to respond by pivoting to China.

“Don’t defend Trump, other than the China travel ban – attack China,” the memo states.

Italy already has more deaths since the peak in late March than before the peak. If this pattern persists, it appears likely they will have around twice as many deaths post-peak than pre-peak.

As I've said in the past the death rate is a function of how well you protect the at risk population. New York failed at that task and has a much higher death rate then they should.

Leadership at all levels failed the American people.

The lag issue is a big nothing. Deaths lag. Antibodies lag. But the two lags,are not enough to matter in calculating IFR. And they cut in opposite directions.

Getting good visibility into infections and the IFR is important. As more data come out we should soon have a pretty good idea.

Sweden thinks Stockholm will be at 25-30 percent positive on antibodies by early May. Sounds plausible.

Antibodies are present in this test 3-4 weeks after infection. Majority of cases then are finalized. So the real IFR would be this 21% figure and death count from 3 weeks ago.
