I think NY is going to be in a decent spot in a couple weeks. The trends in the rest of the country are not so good.

Not really. Most states are projected to be safe to open with containment, we need contact tracing and a few other things.

He correctly identifies the right test, whether the measures are arbitrary, though his analysis leaves something to be desired. Hopefully this means you have figured out how "tyranny" works.

You see, what I don't get is you harp on rights. But I never see you coming to the aid of media who are attacked by Trump. The first right in America is a free speech and free press. You don't seem super into that second one.

The reality is that our "rights" aren't being squashed. What you're seeing is corporate interests are stirring the pot with the **** stick. Why do you think Elon Musk is railing against this? Because his company isn't making any profit and he needs stock results to bolster his wealth, and with non-essential work shut down his company is hemorrhaging value because when they can't hit targets on production, their stock will take a hit. Again, the corporate elite are railing because they're not making money. If they actually cared about America they would have been involved in this. Amazon, Google, Netflix, etc. should be offering to pay people to stay at home. There was a huge opportunity for Silicone Valley to come out of this looking like stars, instead they look like failures.

It's interesting to me that it is leftists who support the nanny state mandates of staying at home - for our protection of course. Not once have y'all said something is too much. Dude arrested for paddleboarding - that too much? Mom arrested for taking her kid to the park - that too much? Michigan governor not allowing the sale of produce seeds (forcing people to have to go to store) - that too much? Writing $1,000 tickets to people watching sunrise from their car - that too much? Force quarantining people for 14 days who attend a drive in Easter service - that too much?

Is anything listed above too much or too far? Or do y'all blindly support everything because your authorities tell you to.

The constitution gives us the right to peaceably assemble. Many places are not allowing that. And then you say "Our rights aren't being squashed"

Merriam Webster defines Fascism as

So let's check the boxes

Is this quarantine a politicla philosophy, not really.

Is it a movement, kind of. I will say it's close enough

Is it a regime, certainly not.

So you half heartedly check one box to get in the door.

Does it exalt nation or race above the individual, nope.

Does it stand for a centralized autocratic government headed by a dictatorial leader, nope. Trump is given no power really.

Severe economic and social regimentation? Maybe you could half heartedly check this if you were cynical. But given that you're not checking the above box, it's a real cynical check.

forcible suppression of opposition - Well that's a big nope. If that was the case these protesters would be shot dead. Not allowed to illegally storm a state house for example.

So yet again, you fail.
