The Coronavirus, not the beer

Love how the talking points have shifted from “there’s nothing anyone could have done differently” when the criticism was about Trump, but now when talking about NY it is “wow they should have done everything differently.”

Just great takes guys. Real insight.

Hey guys. We have got a bunch of old at risk people. Should we let infected caretakers inside?

The answer to this question was somehow yes. Don't give me the nonsense that it's the same thing as not knowing how far the spread was early on.

Just more dishonesty.

NY has been handled especially terrible and those in charge of those decisions should be held accountable.

I do indeed.

Trump doesnt run New York though.

He doesn't. He does however have enough influence that if he suggested shutting down festivals, people would listen. Instead, he disregarded medical experts advice and suggested we all go about our business as usual.

At least from my perspective, it's the double standard that interests me.

Which medical experts? The one in his own team that said as late as February this was not a big deal?

Such a tired talking point to be part of OMB.

Ah yes. People - especially people in NYC - have always listened and taken the advice of the OM.

We've addressed this. Who else was going to take care of the people in the nursing homes?

The CDC was literally warning about the potential for large outbreaks in February. And they came out against Trump after his "similar to the flu" line.

So Trump says business as usual, people listen, but not his fault....... perfect logic.

I think the majority of people take the advice of medical experts. That's really all that's needed.

"Figure it out" is not a plan. Most nursing homes are short staffed as it is. You can't leave these people without care.

Oh..we did worse.

You absolutely figure it out without sending infection into the dwelling of the most vulnerable.

No amount of OMB will make that decision any more defensible.

So what is your plan to "figure it out" to provide care for these people in these places that already were experiencing staffing shortages BEFORE the virus hit.

You could transfer roles from hospitals of non infected care givers. Both the hospital and nursing home still have the same amount of bodies and skills.

Maybe we could have put those folks in those hospitals we built and never used

Maybe. Many were indeed hospitalized.

Though I would think you would be siding with Cuomo, being about freedom and all. Why should nursing homes keep someone out of their home?

These aren't exactly state workers that you can transfer from department to department.
