The Coronavirus, not the beer

We should follow the data and they seem to point to a cost-benefit calculation in favor of opening schools.

I'm concerned what type of mental damage we have done to children.

Living life with fear is never a good thing.

Yep. MOAR power for government. Less liberty for citizens. Always the solution

To recap the latest shenanigans by our fearless leader:

Spends months downplaying the risk of covid.

After folks close to him catch it, panics and starts taking anti-malaria drugs preemptively.

Regular people couldn't get this drug simply by asking for it.

When asked why, his reasoning is, "I think it's good".

This is the anti-intellectual we are relying on to lead us through this pandemic, and his complete and utter incompetence in all matters of life is why we still can't get folks tested at the required rates. Oh, and now Faux News is pointing out how stupid he is, and his drooling supporters have turned to calling them fake news as well. You can't make this stuff up haha.

He says he is taking HDQ. I have some doubts.

Higher ed is a scam.

There is a reason why the left refuses to squarely blame the virus on China.

Wonder what it feels like for these people to sell the nation out to communists.

it feels good

you just get in, the water feels good

you ignoramus

yes, ban schools lol

we have one of you saying we are using schools to brainwash and indoctrinate people

the other saying we want to ban schools

and both of you call other people idiots lol

I second that schools are used to indocrinate kids and is glorified day care. The entire system needs to be torn down and modernized with a focus on basic and essential skills. Basic legal training for everyone as a required part of schooling needs to happen. Basic finances too.

Texas had a spike in testing I believe

I found the numbers. Georgia and Texas % positive trending down. Florida has turned up in the past week. Yeah, Texas has a combination of more cases and lower positive percentage that reflects increased testing.

Not staying at home I see. You rebel.

Yeah. Actually I'm the only one who comes into the office. Technically I think I am in violation of the governor's orders. But I'm not out there with a gun defending my rights. Just sneakily doing so.

Texas had one outlier on the 16th so if you do a 10 day rolling avearge of positivity taking out the max and min you see a declining trend within a certain threshold over the past 3-4 weeks.

Overall the data is overwhelmingly positive for the three states that opened early and should send a signal to all governors, and really all citizens, that the re-opening should happen everywhere ASAP

Just inform the population that the NYC subways are a massive risk.

I wouldn't say overwhelming positive. Positive in GA. Negative in FL. And neutral to slightly positive for TX.

How are hospitalizations trending? Deaths?

Deaths are too much of a lagging factor to know yet but hospitlizations (other than an odd day) have been trending down.

However, using hopsitalizations as a proxy of death you can draw your own conclusions once we 'catch up'.
