It's easier to generalize than provide factual information.

I still wait for the name of a single public official who warned against congregating a few weeks ago and encourages it now.
I think it is gonna be a long wait.
Who says that should be the standard? You?
This was Andrew Cuomo when people protested lockdown measures - "You don't have a right to jeopardize my health. You want to jeopardize your health, God bless you. You have no right to jeopardize my health."
15 hours ago he tweeted "this is how change happens," captioned to a video of NYPD officers joining people (some w/o masks, many not 6 feet apart) in Queens demonstrating against racial injustice. Nothing in his feed about protestors wearing masks, nothing about people not having the right to put others at risk.

Took me two minutes though
Covid
Sacramento County health officials on Tuesday afternoon called on all residents, not just the elderly, to stay at home effective immediately unless they have essential chores to do, such as grocery shopping, banking, restaurant food pickups, or health appointments.
“A directive is an order by another name, and it’s crucial that we all follow it,” Sacramento Mayor Darrell Steinberg said. “This is what we need to do to flatten this curve and prevent our health care system from being overwhelmed.
For Protests
Steinberg also said protesting should be supported.
“Thank you for your willingness and your courage to make sure that your voice for change is unheard,” Steinberg said. “Please express yourself in ways that are strong but peaceful.”
Still, he said he didn’t want the core message of protestors to be lost.
“I think it is not only appropriate that people protest, it ought to be embraced,” Steinberg said.
Deblazio sure did think Jewish funerals were dangerous enough to threaten them. Whats he saying now nsacpi?
I won't be surprised if backlash grows here in the coming days and weeks. We were scolded and lectured to for months now, and most of us went along and played ball, even in the cases where we knew certain policies were ridiculous and arbitrary. Then, this past week, how many thousands of people took to the streets and congregated in cities across the country, throwing caution to the wind? Those people decided what they were doing was important and essential enough to be worth increasing risk to society. For those with businesses shuttered or for people out of work, I don't blame them if they make the same calculation. If I were in their shoes, I certainly wouldn't want to hear it anymore.
Silence isn't hypocrisy though.
Duh
Silence isn't hypocrisy though.
Duh

so now people who don't want to follow instructions on social distancing and masks can say hey the mayor of Sacramento is a hypocrite and I'm gonna go do my thing
