The Coronavirus, not the beer

You act like riots haven't broken out when black people have been slain by police in cold blood. How soon do we forget Ferguson?

Not sure what you're talking about. There were no riots during Obama's presidency.

As a reminder there were 41 white people shot and killed by police in 2019... 9 black people.

That has zero relevance to what actually is being talked about. Though I'm sure you'll side with the white cop here in this instance too.

No...in this instance its very clear that the cop was wrong.

But nice try trying to pin racism on peolle that speak facts. Its a common tactic of the left. You fit right in now.

Jack says don't drink the water it is contaminated. Jill drinks the water and get sick.

I guess my logical reaction is to say Jack you're full of it.

BTW, I think you've posted enough about this virus to know it's not at all analogous to drinking poison water and getting yourself sick. If only the risks were so internalized...would've made the last few months a heck of a lot simpler.

I'm assuming you're calculating using % of population, but you shouldn't include crime rate by race in there somehow since generally cops confrontation is with those committing crimes?

So you're implying black people are inherently more prone to crimes? Maybe, just maybe, black people and their communities are systematically targeted by police.

No the analogy was done for another reason. It had to do with whether a public official loses his audience because all of a sudden a bunch of people start demonstrating because of the George Floyd death. De Blasio God bless him is still urging people to wear masks and observe social distancing guidelines. But he isn't putting that in every tweet. Does that make him lose credibility.

This is what BDB had to say to people attending a funeral.

“My message to the Jewish community, and all communities, is this simple: the time for warnings has passed,” the mayor wrote. “I have instructed the NYPD to proceed immediately to summons or even arrest those who gather in large groups. This is about stopping the disease and saving lives. Period.”

How's his tone today?

His tone? Well his message is the same. But I don't think it is necessarily a bad thing or inconsistency to calibrate a message based on circumstances or people. It is called reading the room. In one room of people you speak one way and another in a different way, and that can be absolutely consistent in terms of what you are trying to accomplish. You speak one way to a group of people wanting to gather for a funeral and another way to demonstrators angry about what happened to George Floyd. I don't see how it can be otherwise.

The same mayor who says restaurants cant be open for safety is allowing massive protests.

You can call it whatever you want. But if this were seen as a massive threat to public health you should be calling for their arrests, right?

I haven't heard of any arrests as far as people getting a bootleg haircut or having a large gathering to remember someone who died. People have been having corona parties. It is stupid. It is to be strongly discouraged. But I haven't seen anyone being led off in handcuffs.
