Is Free Speech Under Attack in this Country?

You are free to express it. People are free to shun. That's freedom of association, baby.

Yep. As I've made clear in this thread... it's legal. But it's dangerous. Snuffing out opposing viewpoints is dangerous and leads to a massive echo chamber one viewpoint.

A society that values free speech embraces all opinions.

Let's dust of this thread.

Also Bish Daily Mail is a british publication. Their source is a british poll.

I wonder if you were outraged when Conservatives got mad at the Dixie Chicks for criticising Bush.

I noticed you never commented on University of Alabama firing their black vice principal after Breitbart posted tweets where he was supportive of things like BLM

Or about James Gunn fired after alt-right people exposed his old joke tweets?

Ironically your "outrage" is pinned at the idea that the only right to free speech being stomped on is your right as a white conservative male to be ****ty. Boo ****ing Hoo. Meanwhile we have state government restricting the people's right to speak with their votes. An actual affront to the constitution. Something protected that is being shat on by conservatives. You're high if you think "the left" is attacking free speech. Here's a hint hombre, those in power are the threat to your rights. It's not a matter of left or right. And who's in power? Capitalists. The arts are supported by liberal minded folk traditionally. So of course being liberal will garner you more attention. It's ****ign economics 101. For someone who claims to be an expert on the subject you sure have a lot of mishandlings of the basic facts.

Considering the Gunn thing happened 6 months before this, perhaps it could have been mentioned in your flurry of starting this thread. But I digress

You don't know about those because it doesn't fit your mold.

Hey look more examples of the right attacking free speech.

Or what about Tarek Mehanna, someone who's been in jail for Translating radical islamic texts into English

Or

Or

Or countless others.

Again, people in power do ****, not the left. You're just obtuse.

So is free speech under attack?

Of course free speech is under attack
Free speech has always been under attack.
and will always be under attack and as long as people have mouths and say uncomfortable truths
or even half truths, sophomores (like you) will hand wring over it

This is not a man bites dog topic

Society doesnt value speech that goes against consensus.

That is dangerous.

Meanwhile, Amazon not allowing Berenson to sell his book bc they dont like the content.

Kind of unbelievable that even when we have actual examples of the state using violence to suppress 1st amendment rights, sturg still only bumps this thread to whine about how some famous white guy gets criticized for saying something stupid.

Free speech is under attack my man.

From the government.

From businesses.

From society.

It's sad but it is indeed happening. And people like you lick the boot to support it

I think part of free speech is being to take some heat from people who disagree with you. And maybe even listening to them and learning something. Free speech aint for snowflakes I'll tell you that much. Free speech is supposed to be rough and tumble.
