NASCAR released the presser on this. Don't pull this "the entire country" ****. NASCAR brought this out. Not the "liberals" or whatever **** you're trying to make up. Considering Wallace's stance and NASCAR banning Slavery banners, you would be hard pressed to think they would be very careful.

In fairness Z, when I was a kid I worked in racing as a floor sweeper and go-fer.
There is a lot of dead time in the pits --- for go-fers and floor sweepers.

I think before I went on a massive publicity opportunity I'd ask questions. I'd like to see for myself.
Hell, I might even ask other drivers who also had the rope in their stall.

I don't see any nooses in Daytona's garage
You can just admit this is weird. For starters, a hangman's knot is not an efficient hand hold. Because it slips. This was odd enough to cause NASCAR to launch an investigation. THe only people who don't think it's weird are people who've shown signs that they're ok with at best casual racism.

A loop knot is NOT a noose. If it was a noose, it implies somebody made it for a joke or was into S M or whatever. They're sorta beautiful, in a weird way, but they take time to make and you would never make one for a practical purpose.
For what they imply they should be against the law and in some places I think they are.
