Let's assume there will be < 60 game regular season

Yup. This season will have an asterisk by it, so I'm just gonna enjoy it. Well, I'm gonna try not to trip on every pitch.

If we win the World Series there ain't gonna be no asterisks for us.

**** that. Would be so ironic that we win the big one after all these years in a weird format after choking and getting unlucky in the regular format.

I may have missed it, but what about MiLB? Are the options for Pache to play bench warmer burning his clock, or sit at home, and nothing else?

Sitting at home and not burning service time may be the right answer here.

Seems pretty cut and dry that it doesn't make much sense to play him. Is there a primer for how service time is going to count this year?

I wonder what happens to those veterans signed to minor league contracts? Alonso, Culberson, Hernandez, Ortega, Rusin, Solarte and Tomlin for the Braves.

Also, what about late FA signees? I could see some potential value at the right price for Zobrist, Wright, Russell, Puig, Martin, Harvey, Gennett etc. if the rosters are expanded or have pool players. Martin as 3rd catcher especially. Harvey as a bounce back play. Puig as a bounce back play and insurance against having to rush Pache and Waters.

Haven't read anything about service time. But teams can have up to a 60 man roster that will be available to pull from. And there will be expanded rosters up to 30 players for the first month and going down to 26 over time. Also saw there can be up to a 3 man taxi club that travels with teams on the road. I'd be surprised if Pache is not one of the extra players available for call up.

why you that fragile? who really cares?
also what letter is on the Braves' hat?

Fragile? I would say someone offended by a Braves logo is fragile. I’m literally the opposite.

The “A” is also on other caps (like the Oakland A’s). In fact it would “maybe” make sense for Oakland....we have never been known as the Atlanta A’s....so if you can’t see how bad a slogan that is....I won’t waste my time explaining it to you. Replacing it is ridiculous...replacing with what they did Is down right embarrassing.

"For the A" sounds like a kindergarten lesson.

Agreed. But I still think the For Each Other and whatever Brotherhood slogans the Falcons and Braves have been using is far more elementary and hilariously bad.

At least the A, when people say the A in pop culture, most know it as Atlanta, just like ATL. Thanks to hip hop and rap, the A is Atlanta.

I cringe whenever I see Dansby trying to look hip in these team made videos.

God bless him. He at least embraces true Atlanta culture (ie OutKast)

Looks like teams can have a pool of up to 60 players for the year. Those on the 40 man and up to an additional 20. That list is due by Friday. Should be fun.

Curious to see who comprises the additional 20. My guess it will be guys who will have to go on the 40-man over the winter (Anderson, Muller) and guys who are year-to-year minor league free agent additions (Unroe, Kozma, etc.).

Passan said today that teams will be able to manipulate service time and holding players back just 1 week will get them an extra year of service time. So it looks that is going to be prorated as well.

I’m wondering this too. I could see a lot of our pitching prospects on the additional roster, because service time isn’t as big of an issue with them as with position prospects. I could also see us keeping a bunch of the older players we have signed to minor league deals like Alonso, Culberson, and Ortega since we don’t care about their service time. I think it’ll be a stretch if we see either Pache or Waters play a game this season.
